to practise and further advance the Roman
Catholic religion of our intrusted parish
communities, promote religious hannony and
understanding of faith.

The charity provides priests to 5 parish
COTnmunities, chaplaincy to 4 hospitals. 7
catholic schools and I prison.
Chaplaiticy is the provision of religious and
pastoral services to people within l(Kal
communities who may have specific needs due
to their state of life. who face unique
challenges, or who are vulnerable and therefore
requi￿ sp¢cial accomtnodations to be made.
Continued operntion of individual chaplaincie5
reflects not only the changing needs of people
in their local communities, but also of
contemporary society itself, particularly in
relation to social integration and community
cohesion. The charity is involved in
chaplaincies connected with secular institstions,
such as hospitals, prisons.
However, for example the youth chaplaincy is
re5ponsiblc for nurturing thc character of
tomorrow's adults. fortning thetn into active.
capable citizens with the confidence required to
thrive in modern society. This responsibility
grows in importance each and every year and
r¢quircs constant focu5 on th¢ tkccds of young
people. The youth ministry has a paramount
importance to th¢ Missionarics of La Salette
and is provided on the parish level as w¢ll as in
the secondary schools connected with our
parishes and beyond. Som¢ youn8 peopl¢ fonn
our parishes made their diocesan pilgrimage to
Lourdes in July 2022.

Our priests provide p8Stordl provision for the
needs of Polish communities in Brentwood and
East Anglia diocese.
The Trustees have held a high regard to the
guidance issued by charity Commission on
public benefit and wish to record their
r¢¢ognilion to the people who 5UPPOrt the
Congregation of Missionaries of Our Lady of
La Salette. Their dedication and positive
attitude are greatly appreciated itt furtherance of
the aims and activities of the Charity.

One of ihe principal activities within each
parish is the ¢el¢bralion of Mass by the priests.
Approximately 4700 Catholi¢ Christians in the
parishes served by Missionaries of La Salette
attend services every Saturday ¢v¢nintySunday.

Naturally the charity does more than just
provide weekday and Sunday services-. our
priests are keen to offer a range of services
during the week and over the course of the year
that our comTnunities find both beneficial and
spiritually fulfilling. For exatttple, evening
prayers of adoration provide a quite intimate
and reflective environmcnt for worship of God.
Missionaries of La Salette are active leaders in
their respective communities outreaching other
denominations and faiths. We share our faith
with our brothers and sisters from other faiths
The Charity supports various missionary
activities run by Missionaries of La Salette in
Ukraine and Mad&g￿ar. Particularly
support the people of Ukraine affected by war,
and we have had spccial collectiotts of food,
clothing, sanitary product etc. We also support
parishes in Eastem Ukraine directly affected the
conflict (Zapor02he, Nikopol and Krzywy Rog)
served by Missionaries of ia Salette
We h&ve held meetings for our Trustees to
discuss support, encouragement and inspiration
for new cxprc5SiOT]s of Catholic ttkissionary
outreach.

It is the policy of the Charity thal unrestricted
funds which have not been designaied for a
specific use are to be maintained at a level
equivalent to approximately 5 -7 months,
expenditure. The Trustees consider that reserves
at this level will ensure thaL in the event of a
significant drop in funding. they will be able to
continue the Charity's current activities while
consideration is given to ways in which
additional funds may be rais¢d. The Trustees
have appmved the Resetves Policy which is
reviewed annually when the financial
statements are considered for a
roval.
