This support and
assistance take form across a number of activities, and has a
positive impact on the public both in, and beyond, the Catholic
community – including the education of children and young
adults, care for the poor, visits to the sick and housebound and
outreach to the marginalised .|
|---|---|
||The charity provides priests to the six parishes, chaplaincy to
fve hospitals, seven catholic schools and one prison.
Chaplaincy is the provision of religious and pastoral services to
people within local communities who may have specifc needs
due to their state of life, who face unique challenges, or who are
vulnerable and therefore require special accommodations to be
made. Continued operation of individual chaplaincies refects
not only the changing needs of people in their local
communities, but also of contemporary society itself,
particularly in relation to social integration and community
cohesion. The charity is involved in chaplaincies connected with
secular institutions, such as hospitals, prisons.
However, for example the youth chaplaincy is responsible for
nurturing the character of tomorrow’s adults, forming them into
active, capable citizens with the confdence required to thrive in
modern society. This responsibility grows in importance each
and every year and requires constant focus on the needs of
young people. The youth ministry has a paramount importance
to the Missionaries of La Salette and is provided on the parish
level as well as in the secondary schools connected with our
parishes and beyond.
Our priests provide pastoral provision for the needs of Polish
communities in Brentwood and East Anglia diocese.
The Trustees have held a high regard to the guidance issued by
charity Commission on public beneft and wish to record their
recognition to the people who support the Congregation of
Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette. Their dedication and
positive attitude are greatly appreciated in furtherance of the
aims and activities of the Charity.|

## Section D Achievements and performance

One of the principal activities within each parish is the **Summary of the main** celebration of Mass by the priests. Approximately 4500 Catholic **achievements of the** Christians in the parishes served by Missionaries of La Salette **charity during the year** attend this sacred liturgy every Sunday.

Due to Covid restrictions in the year 2021 the number of people attending church services and committee meetings have dropped significantly. We hope this is only temporary and we will be able to get pre-pandemics numbers in the very near future.

But we do more than just celebrate weekday and Sunday masses: our priests are keen to offer a range of services during the week and over the course of the year that our communities find both beneficial and spiritually fulfilling. For example, evening prayers of adoration provide a quite intimate and reflective environment for worship of God. Missionaries of La Salette are active leaders in their respective communities outreaching other denominations and faiths. We share our faith with our brothers and sisters from other faiths

The Charity supports various missionary activities run by Missionaries of La Salette in Ukraine and Madagascar.

We have held on-line spiritual renewal and retreats for Missionaries of La Salette in English District and provide support, encouragement and inspiration for new expressions of Catholic missionary outreach.

## **Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves**

It is the policy of the Charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for a specific use are to be maintained at a level equivalent to approximately 5 -7 months' expenditure. The Trustees consider that reserves at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the Charity's current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. The Trustees have approved the Reserves Policy which is reviewed annually when the financial statements are considered for approval.

**Details of any funds materially in deficit**

## **Further financial review details (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about:
