AIMS AND PURPOSE
The alrn and purpose of Sl John's is promoting the whole misslon of Ihts Church. pasloral. evangelistic. social
and ecumenical, within the parish. The princlpl& function of the Parochial Church Council IPCCI, the governing
body of Sl John's Wimborne, Is cooperallon with the vicar in this purpose. These aims are unchanged for the
year and derive from Ihe legislation Imeasuresl which govern the PCC, The Parochial Church Councils
IPowérsl Measur6 1956 as amended and The Church Representation Rules120201.
Publ1¢ Bfjngflt
The PCC have taken note of the public benefit guidance provided by the Charity Commission, and in particular.
the specific guidance on charities for the advancement ol religion. As a church we believe that the Bible has
not only great advice bul is where we can meet Jesus and through Him have a deeper relationship with God.
So th8 church 5eNices and a lull weekly programme of meetings for different groups provide the opportunily
for people lo explore the Christian faith so that their questions and issues Gan be addressed. The Global
Coronaviru5 Pandemic during 2020 re5ulled in the closure ol the church building for several months and as a
rgsull Iher9 has b9en a necessary devglopmenl ol online streaming ol setViCg5 and a move lo runnlng much
of the various church minislrles via Zoom. The church family al Sl John's is fully involvod across th6 communlty
In Wimborne, including

However, many oflh8 above Inllialives have been on hold durlng some of2020, due lo Gov8rnmenl restriction
caused by the PandemiG.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
THE VISION FOR ST JOHN'S
Th8 PCC and Home Gr0￿h Groups have been looking at our vision and strategy for the n8xI few
years with the aim'to creating various documents e.g. a shorter booklet for new people al Sl John's,
which will hopefully allow greater ownership and engagement with our vision. This work has not been
completed as quickly as we had inilially hoped. Therefore the revised plan is to continue to work o
these documents through 2021 with a view to launching il at the beginning of 2022. The vision will

then be communicated to everyone who comes to St John's through all the programmes of church
life in 2022.
The current vision of St John's slates.. We see ourselves as a Church community called by God lo
offer both New Life and Full Life to the people in the Wimborne area and beyond. This challenges
each of us to be disciples of the Lord Jesus, so that we become more like Him in our daily lives. St
John's Church stands ready to rea¢h out and welcome all who would like lo journey with God, as we
commit ourselves to pray, seNe and grow healthy, loving gospel communities across this area, so
that many ¢an be reached for Christ. Our vision is outward looking and seeks God's blessing on Ihls
area of Wimborne. The Church family of Sl John's are ready lo help and encourage others lo find
and know God's love in Jesus Christ. The Church family commit lo this vision by the way that they
live and by giving generously to God's work across Wimborne.
What is 'Now Lif8'7
New Life is found when people have a living relationship with Jesus, which they come lo through
faith and repentance. New Life starts now and continues Into etemlty.
What Is 'Full Llfe.?
Full Life is found when people learn to live every day with Jesus and grow in their love and knowledg8
of God and each other. This will be seen by becoming more Christ-like, and serving one another and
the wider world.
