THE PARISH OF NORTON

FINANCE: Carol Greatorex presented the main points from the Treasurer’s report

In 2023 the income went down by 9%.
We entered 2024 hoping to break-even but by the end of the year we had a loss of nearly £13,000.
We are now taking Ad hoc bookings for the hall and trying to get more daytime bookings.
Only emergency repairs are being done now due to our financial state.

Question:

Will we see a fall in Parish Share in line with the reduction in the electoral roll numbers?

It was confirmed that a reduced electoral roll number would assist in keeping the level of Parish Share lower in future years.
It was also confirmed that the monthly payment towards the Parish Share has been reduced from 90% to 50% of the sums due to the Diocese from June 2025.
The Finance committee will meet in September/ October 2025 to review how much more we will be able to pay towards the Parish Share for the 2025 year-end with the benefit of a further 4 months income.

Vicky Cameron proposed we accept the audited accounts for the year ending 31/12/2024 & Andy Nicholls seconded. All agreed .
