ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING
THE PARISH OF NORTON
SUNDAY 19[th] May 2024
11.00am
FINANCE: Carol Greatorex presented the main points from the Treasurer’s report
-
This has been a good year. The Parish share was paid in full. We have had 4 years of profit. The parish office has been reopened for an hour a week. We invested in the buildings, repainting the spire of St George’s and new lighting in the hall.
-
Planned giving has dropped year on year and has continued to fall this year. Income from the hall has fallen.
-
Coffee shop, Nippers & badminton add to the finances
-
The house in Common View has been let for most of the year
-
There has been a small increase in charitable giving
-
In the coming year the Priory Nursery is leaving. This will make a massive hole in our income - £4,500 this year & £12,000 next year.
-
Once Eugene is in post the parish share will rise
Thanks were expressed, by Susan Taylor, to Carol for all the hard work she does with the finances. All agreed.
Carol proposed we accept the audited accounts for the year ending 31/12/2023 & Ros Pratt seconded. All agreed.
AUDITOR
Carol proposed we ask Robin Mead to audit the accounts again next year. Tim Croot seconded and all agreed.
