The Parisb C¢ntre hallg are available to all in the con]nunity reoliiring a suitabl¢ venue.
St Stephells no longer has any sclioo15 WitELin the parism but we have however, forged a good ongoing ielalionsliip witb a
neai'by acadeny and nursery, R¢cently a new Toddl¢i's Group has been started on a moiitlily basis.
The Cliui'¢b has ¢onlinLi¢d its associalioii with the looal ¢are liones, visiti￿￿ two in the locality on¢tt a monl'li for a short
s¢rvice with hymrLS, and we are delighted that the residents aLid car¢i's often visit during the week for prayer and
meditation and jLUSt for a calm and p￿e£u1 environmeiit. Th¢y also at'tend the monthly tea and chat meetiiigs wliich
have gone from strength lo strength. This last winter we have started a "waLTh space programme supported by
Blackpool Borough Council, on Friday &fteinoons including a Film Club and Recorded Music Society, All ar¢ welcome
and fl'ee refr¢slitncnts are provided,

ACHIEVEMETr4T AND PERFORMANCE
The PCC sat for five occasions during the year with all ava'age attendan¢¢ of 85 0/0,
Th¢ fli￿lIce and standing committee have continued to Liieet r¢gularly throughout th¢ year and have been given authority
lo act oil th¢ PCC'S behalf on tnatters of maintenance and finance.
The PCC expenses account has paid the majority of repair5 and nminlenance cos15 for the year. Thes¢ r¢pairs have
included patch pointing, healing repairs and g¢neral service and mailllenance ¢he¢ks. All efforts have been thade to
k¢¢p speiiding to a minimum considering the llced for large are￿ of pointing oflhe Narthex and west side of the Church,
Despite considerable fmancial drain for a new roof on the Church and large hall, the TNstee8 have attempted to pay as
much as possible towards the Parish sha￿ Less LICF of £ 41,365, Therefore £23,733 was paid in 2024.
The Church has continued to support charities throligh MissioLI outreach including Bloemfontttin.
The Parish halls conlinlle lo be Lised by a number of long terni regular groups inclLiding Karate, Tea DELnce and Scouts.
Additional groups include local Rcsidents Associations, Brass Band Reh¢&Trals. There is increasing deinaiid for Lise of
IK¢ halls for short terr(L Llse.
FINANCL4L REI VIEW
Financial position
A summary OF our income and expenditure shows &1 income of £219,163 (2023: £228,681) of whi¢h £191,974 (2023.
£192,748) was fro￿ donations md lega¢i¢s.
The lolal atnount of funds the charity holds at the end of the reporting period is £62,369.
The Ck]urch hold8 cash at the bank of £68,776 (2023., £43,517) and £599 {2023; £5691 deposited with the Central Board
of Finance Chur¢li of EJglalld Funds.
The fixed assets shown on the balattce sheet show a fi¥ure of £l7,243 (2023: 18,049).
Reserves pollcy
i aceordance with the guidelines issued by the Clwity Commission the level of res¢rves is considered ￿ld reviewed at
regular intevrnls by th¢ Trustees.
It is th¢ policy of the ChaLity to always keep a bank balance of rLO less than £6,000. The TLUSte¢s consider that these
rescrves will ensure that should there be a dLDP in fundiiig they will be able lo continue tlie Charities curr¢iit aGIivLtL¢S
and meet the Parisli Share contribution wliilst Conside1￿'10ll is given to ways in whÈch addition￿ funds may be rdised.
FUTURE PLANS
As ￿WayS, Ibe last year has brought ils own Gknallenges. The Tnstees would like lo thank Fr. Andrew Teather for the
immense of work he lias und¢rtak¢ll during the last year especiaLLy during the last parl of 2024 and the beginning of
2025.
Social events have conlinucd to grow dw'ing the year with regular well SLiPPOrted events h¢ld OLI a nonthty basi5. These
events always att'i'act & nuniber of ncw people into our buildings and worship.
As soon as possible we intend to Gonmicn¢e repointing of Nartbex and west side of the CLiurch which has Suffered
seveLely ov¢r th¢ years, at a projected cost of at least £85,000, for which grant applicatiolls al'e being inade, The Church
is fortunate lo continue the association wilh a professional £Lanl ftllid￿lSer, and we are imtnen8¢ly grate￿1 lo Denise
Bernard for her expertise in tliis area.

The charity constitutes a public benefLt entity as defined by FRS 102,

Thilst the PCC has overall responsibility, the finance and standing c4)mmittee have been given autliorily to oversee
rtLainlenance and finance on a day to day basis. The finance and standing committe continuc lo meet regularly enabling
the [lleMbe￿ lo continually reassess the financial position of the Church. The end of year tnembership for the eleeloral
roll stands at 86 and the average Sunday corntnunicant figure counted during Ike four Sundays in October was 53 adults.
For thi.s year we are in the process of undertaklng an obligatory sexennial review of the Ele¢loial ROIL and the
membership thLlS fai. stands at 66 bul should increas¢. Having lost tnembers during the panden]ic and oiber causes of
deatEt, we are pleased St. Stephens can still attra¢t new tnembers whose names are on the roll.
Risk mallagement
The PCC mernbers bave &Kamined the major gLrategic, business and operational risks which the PCC fac£s and confinn
that systerns have been established to enable regular reports to b¢ produced so that necessary steps can be taken to less¢ll
risks.
Tbe key risks along wiib mitigating actions are..
Changes in Stewardghip., TELIS is an OLigoing issue alld a nurnber of r¢gular contriblltrns have sadly passed away reducing
Stewardship numbers, however, sorne personal paymeLits have increased.
Cost of Utiliti¢s and services.. All contracts aTe being looked at and some services caiicelled. The energy bills a
r￿leWed regularly and the best rice found depending on length of contract.
Repairs and Maintenance: The CE]uT¢h and halls are reviewed monlldy lll line with the Chur¢h Maintenallce ProgLamine,
in order lo identify problems as they alis¢. Tbe Church. has been fortLinate that sottLe srnallcr jobs have be¢ll cani¢d out
by talented voluiiteers. Regular service contracts for fire, electrical and olber safety equipment continue to be in place.
Lack O'F Volunte¢rs'. St Stcphens relies lieavily on it5 volunteers and is lucky to luve a strong cole of d¢dicated people
who assist ill facilitating the mnning of die Church, W¢ ¢ontinue to welcome new people and would like to thank those
wlio givc their lirne and talents so generously and would Itke to str¢ss that ￿1 help Iiowever small is a great help and
everybody can h&v¢ a pait lo play.

at St Stephens and they are both sadly Lnissed. A carved memorial has been made lo each of the pews where they sat
