Objectives and Activities
St Anne’s PCC has the responsibility of co-operating with the Vicar, Rev Rod Bevan, in promoting in the Ecclesiastical parish, the whole mission of the church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. It also has maintenance responsibility for St Anne’s Church and Churchyard.
Achievements and Performance
Church Service Attendance
There are 85 members on the Electoral Roll (compared to 81 in 2020). During the year our pattern of worship continued to be disrupted by the covid pandemic, and we have worshipped at both in person services in our building and online via zoom. This ‘mixed economy’ has enabled as many people as possible to engage with us, as many of us were isolating at some point during the year, and we envisage that this pattern will continue beyond the pandemic.
Our services with the highest attendance during the year were Christmas services with the school community – the Christingle Service was attended by 145 children and 45 adults.
Review of The Year
The PCC met 8 times during the year and the average attendance was 9 members. All of these meetings were held via zoom. Since her appointment as Headteacher at St Anne’s School in September we have been pleased to welcome Mrs Jayne Webb for part of our meetings, to develop our school and church partnership working.
St. Anne’s Mission Statement is:
Let’s build together
-
Faith in God
-
Hope for the world
-
Love for each other
Throughout the year we have worked to put this in to practice in a world with covid. We have worked hard to Reset our pattern of worship and activities, to restore what was lost during the pandemic and incorporating new initiatives and ways of working we discovered along the way.
As the year draws to a close we still await the official start of the Rossendale Team which has been subject to unforeseen delays. We look forward to the many changes this will bring as Rod takes on the role of Team Rector, and all nine member parishes work more closely together.
Financial Review
Our income for the year was £81,602 (compared to £64,482 in 2020) and expenditure was
£64,212 (compared to £63,491 in 2020), giving an excess of £17,390. This is an extremely encouraging result, and we are very grateful to our members and other supporters who have maintained their giving despite the continued disruption caused by the pandemic. Our Parish Share was met in full accounting for £22,700 of our payments.
Planned giving for the year (without tax reclaimed) stood at £46,836 compared to £44,811 in 2020. This is great testimony to the dedication of our members. We will continue to seek new ways of generating income to ensure our sustainability now covid restrictions are relaxed.
Reserves Policy
Reserves are held on deposit at Barclay’s Bank. The PCC has earmarked £1000 to be reserved to meet emergency payments.
