## **Report on the proceedings of the Parochial Church Council in 2021**

Due to the continuing effects of the Covid Pandemic and the prohibition of meetings in person, the Council met only twice in the year. The meeting planned for January 2021 was cancelled. The first of those meetings was also the Annual Parochial Church Meeting.

## **At Holy Trinity**

The underpinning of the South West corner was further investigated and a firm estimate of £94,000 was obtained for carrying out the works. Further estimates were obtained for the repointing of the stonework on the gables at the East end, making good and redecoration, as well as the opening up of the South Door. There was also some discussion about the installation of a Servery in the South West corner of the aisle.

A new gas fired boiler was installed for the Church heating.

The gutter clearing and roof maintenance was maintained.

The lavatories in the Church hall were refurbished in conjunction with the school and as a result of a bid to LDBS.

The Sunday Mass was continued as a ‘Children’s Mass’ every week, which is very successful in helping some of the children and families to come regularly to the Sunday Mass. The voluntary choir was re-established and the routine introduced of singing twice per month at Mass. Further plans were developed for the appointment of an organist specifically for Holy Trinity

## **At S. Silas**

The North aisle was entirely redecorated. The Church lighting was further refurbished with replacement bulbs.

There was initial investigation of installing card payment facilities in both Churches for collections and donations.

The urgent works outlined in the Quinquennial report were all carried out.

A professional survey of the outside drains was carried out. The gutter cleaning programme was regularly maintained.

Plans were made for a new Parish Website.

In conclusion the Council thanks all those who have worked so hard to serve this Parish and to witness to the Gospel and commends all we do to the guidance and blessing of God **.**
