The Parothial C 11 AnnualRewt2021 (con&n￿￿) Review of the year ending 31st December 2021 2021 saw a gradual restarting of activrties and meetings in tErson afKJ it has been gocKJ to see the life and vibrancy in so much of the lrfe of our 3 church centres, the Junction and our Pioneer Ministerfs work in the r￿rth of the Parish. Covtd still haj a big impxt on the Parish but thankfully we have been able to ease the restrictions in line with UK &)vernn￿nt and Church of England guiddines. It was sad that our Rector Jane K￿lr￿)n had to take earty retirement earty in the year. and we thank her, and husband Rithard, all they did for the Parish duriThJ her time as Rector. For various rea￿fts the Diocese wishes to re4ieN the Parish structure, and this has preduded us from advertising and reuutting a new Rector, alth)ugh by mid- 2022 we will be in a p0S￿On to start the recnjitment pr(w by advertising for a Priest in Charge (Rector Designate). Our clergy and lay minister5 have done very g(KAJ work txkh with online 3ThJ in p￿sOn ministy so that we have b￿n able to keep a varied of serrfrces gcmng, many of which have been streamed to those unable to actualty attend the servi￿. We particularly thank Rerf Simon Marshall and Rev Sue Chandler for heading up the dergy ministy arKI a￿ aiso very grateful to Ven. Paul Taylor for his work in advising on the directton and Maintenan￿ of the Parish, and to our Readers who continue to give invaluable services in many areas. The PCC Committees set up durirKJ the year to a)ver all astcts of the Parish work have provej to be effective. During the year we also began to deveknp our Missi(ffi and our TransfcMThirvJ aiurdi Action Nan (TC4P) which is continuing in 2022. (￿r partI￿lar desire is to see younger ajults joining more fully into our fdlo7W5hips, and s Mission, in its wHk* S￿, as a key pri￿lty for our Parish. Financial Report of the Parochlal Church Council for 2021 Cfverall, the parish had an opwating suryAus of £ 1.750 on totsl funds, but this iThJuded leJaae5 of £151,351, x) the-real- operatiw defiat vffjs £ (149,481). We did, however, make totsl investment gains of £296,304, ￿ our ovefall funts in(Tea5ed to £4,072,073 by the end of the year. Signifiont amounts of rnnies do need to be spwt i)n recessary ￿MedIa1 vffjrk and ￿paIrS to St Alphege, the Oliver Bird Hall and St Helens (whth wll thmmence in 2022), and the Parish is k￿kIng into major devdopment plans to create ne#V facilities at St PJphege and to utKlate the infTrstructure and facilities at the Otiver Bird Hall - whith s￿[1 be 60 years old this year. The￿ continued to be an (wating deftit, of £ (98,266) this year, £ (101,958) in 2020, on the St Franas Parish Fund, where our exFwditure on Youth WorK Children's Work, Parish SupporL and Outreach activibes, induding our Pioneer Ministy costs, in recent years has consistenuy exceeded income, such that we are now comtAetety reliant on income from investtrEnt gains (the so called "totsl income- COn￿pt} to fund all the outgoings from the St Frdncis Parish Fund, more so iEcause our-regularf investment irmne falls every time VR realise g)me of our investment assets. As a result of the C￿lruS situation, many things have ttonged - probably p￿rnanenty., and it És still rK)t certain vthat the future holds. St Alphege, the Oliver Bird Hall and Pre-school have now recorded two conse(thve years of defictts; and all three thurches continue to suffer reductions in ujngregational giving and105 of other incom& AJI fund holdets do still have adequate reserves at Ixesent to ensure that they can a)ntinue to fund known outgoings, lyjt the ongoing situation 15 now becomiThJ serious and financially "challenging", SO some difficult decisions will need to be made as to what we can, and cannot, afford to fund.
