Children's Fund are .

and other leisure time occupation of children
and young people, with a view to improving the
lives of children and young people.

we make grants which help to improve the lives
of young people.

Achievements and Performance
During 2023-2024, applications were
received from three organisations. Two of
the applications were considered too general
to meet our objectives.

whole.
Hope UK applied for a grant towards "the
support of our drug education workshops in
England and Wales. We are seeking a grant
for delivering drug education workshops in
schools. Youth groups and community
organisations..
The Trustees considered this application for
the public benefit and met our objectives so
a grant of £1,000 was made. Hope UK
confirmed that the grant would be made for
alcohol and other drugs workshop sessions.

Trustees are exploring the possibility of
outreach work in the North East of England to
promote alcohol information and education.
They are also aware of the growing interest in
"Sober societies "in Colleges and Universities"
With that end, the trustees are keeping

Review of the charity's
financial position at the end
of the period
The charities accounts are income and
expenditure. The income for the year was
£26,566.83 made up of interest and dividends.
Expenditure was total of £1246.78 including a
grant of £1,000. Annual income was over
£25,000 as Epworth bond changed and money
was re-invested.
The charities investment funds are in CCLA and
COIF.

Reserves Policy: This is not formalised but the
Trustees do not exceed the annual income in
making grants and surplus income is re-invested
to ensure the future financial stability of the

The charitie5 principal source of funds are
investments, raised from the Sale of the
property of the former Good Templars and
Temperance Children's Home.

in 2012, as a socially responsible charity not to
invest in alcohol or tobacco in accordance with
our aims, and not to invest in arms. This policy
has continued.

The Temperance Children's Fund , previously
known as The Good Templar and Temperance
Children's Fund , was formed after the closure of
the Good Templars and Temperance Children's
Home11875- 20111 which had provided a home
and relief for children of farnilies affected by
alcohol, sold its property in Kent.

The Good Templar and Temperance Children's
Fund provided grants for young people to attend
educational events concerning alcohol and drug
education.
The Temperance Children's Fund continues this
work in providing support for alcohol education
for young people.

Trustees were assured that personal details
would be kept securely and would be updated /
