**During the Covid-19 pandemic Dogstrust**
**were in need of dogs for their rehoming**
**centres. We facilitated the handover of 72**
**dogs directly from the trainers to Dogs**
**Trust. Unfortunately Dogstrust have not**
**been able to take in dogs we have**
**requested placements for since the lock-**
**downs ended. Other dog rescues are also**
**struggling to accommodate dogs and this**
**is putting pressure on our charity to offer**
**dogs a shelter space. We are still liaising**
**with other rescues in the hope that the**
**situation improves. **
**We have maintained a strict policy of**
**never euthanising a healthy dog by**
**accommodating dogs that would be**
**difficult to rehome with the Greyhound**| |||**Rescue North East team, in foster**
