whflst some may feel that we live in a secular

Christ. It is my huge privllege to lead this parish
as Rector wlth so many lik&minded and
commltted people In our cc¥nmurrrity. In 2023

events our churches remalned resourdng pdnts
of C￿mUnIty Ilfe and love, wlth eath p￿SOn
belng a 'lfving stone, of this Insplring l￿deav￿r,
radiatlng the Ilght and love of Christ. In line wlth
latt year's report, l am no longer provlding a

Waisingham. Wlth thanks to the klnd welcome or
the team at Walsingham I was able to lead

of Sprfnkllng at the weil. We are very grateful to
the Trustees of the lry Child Charitable Trust for

In Holy Week we were able to hold most servtces
slmllar to our pre-pandemic programme with

Fun Day in the St Andrew'5 Centre. We were able
to distrfbLtte over 50 Easter eggs to chlldren
arKI y(￿ng people - Sharing the love of Christ
thr(Xfghout our commun5ty. On Easter Day we
were a150 able to dTstribute a small bwklet
prodLKed by the Church of England counting
dovm the 29 days from Easter to the Cormatli¥>.
Coronation Weekend
Following the success of s￿r planning for the
Platinum Jubilee we V￿￿e able to present a very
full programme of event5 and actlvities for the
Corfflation, beglnn?ng with an excellent talk
fr(*n Pfylllda Scrivens, the Ring7n8 for the King
Inltiatlve on the Saturday afternoon and a super
day ffi th.e S￿daY wlth a Service of Thanksgivlng

prepared ty The Rivergarden Pth. We we
tertalned to an excellent concert by the
Noprtich City C¢)ncert .Band, with Fr James
C&m1￿tIng an Impromptu Item at the endl The

It wa5 amazlng for us to reflect a5 we prepared
for our annual Plant Sale that thys CoYld-19
inltiadve has gone frtyn strength to strength and
has raised a lot of money for our Missi￿ and
mlnlstry. Huge thanks to Margaret Hope and all
the garderrfng team who worked so hard this
year.

The kitchen at the St Andrew's CeTFtre was
beC￿ing very old tired and so when Adam
Wegg came foThYard with a way of refurbi5hiny
the kttchen at cost prfce wlth the generoLL5
dc￿at¥￿ of a c(￿sIderable amount of hfs time I
was very grnteful. i am full of admIrati¢￿ for
Adam, who In the ￿￿th of h￿gUSt ccx)rdinated
thls projett and used hi5 skill to dellver thls, and
.for all t￿ who came to help wlth many
dlfferent tasks. Thi5 vias truly a 'communlty
enga8cyn￿t pfece, excellence.

Sunday greeted the young people as they were

coasL We then held a SLper barbecue at the
Rectory in the aftern(￿. Thanks to all who

Harvest Festlval and Lunth
Our Harvest FestTval tc￿ place at the Pari
. Church. and afterwards we joumtyed nixth to
the St Andrew's Centre for the. Haryest Lunch. A
collection was taken for the FocKlbank in mcffley
and focKi. My thanks go to Cox, Jénny Fuller,
LTnda OLney and thelr team for the excellent
lunch. Thanks atso to Sue Short and Isobel
Munday and the cklldren of the Junior Cholr for
decorating the church for Harvest. We were able
to ble55 and dedfcate the kltchdyt for use I
community at the lunch.

We held our annual semce for those have

Warm and Wellness Fund
Wlth thanks to the Thorpe St Andrew T￿￿t we

needed it throuFh the Warm and Wellness Fund.

2023. Whilst the magthne before looked
beautrful It Was Costing the parish too much and
we had to ccffte up wlth a cost effectlve
altemative. We are fflakins a very modest profit

it t￿ether and to those who have distributed

m(mth at the St Andrew's Centre. We began a

partlcularly gratefut to Nlcole and Adam who

Respective responsibilities of the Trustees and Independent Examiner
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the account. The chartty's trustees tonsider
than an audit is not required for this year under section 144{2) of the Charities Att 2011 (the 2011 Actl
and that an Independent examination is needed.

My examination was carried out in accordance with the Ger)eral Direclions given by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a

items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such
matters. The procedure undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in a full audit,
and consequently no opinion 15 given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view" and the
report is limited to those matters set out in the Statement below.

2. To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in orderto enable a proper understanding of the
accounts to be reached.
3. 1 would like to draw attention to the Agency Fee figure which is very high both as a receipt and
payment, this was dueto an error from Broadland Distrirt Council of a receipt of £275,327which was
sent to the church account rather than the Town Council, thi5 was returned immediately and
Broadland informed of the error.
