We w¢re delighted to run a Chrls¢lanity
Explored eourst during the year. as well as
Celebrate two of our young people b¢in8
Confirmed in our first confirniation s¢rvi¢e
since the lockdowns caused by Covid-19 (in
partne￿hIP with two other local evangelical
Anglican chU￿he$), and one young person
bein8 b4pti$ed. This reflects the prayerful work
don¢ by the leaders of 'OwJlde' our youth
group for older teenager4 as well as
PaihfiDders. which has seen a number of new
members in th¢ Aulumrt le￿.
As a PCC, me¢lin8s begin by reading a section
of the Bibl¢ so that God's word shapes our
discussions and d¢cisions. We have continued
readin& discussin& and praying through the
apostle Paul's letters io Titus and l Timothy.
¢nwura8ing him to contirtue to put the churches
in Crete and Ephesus in order by teaching the
gospel that leads to 8odliness and appointing
godly elders lo do so too. Thi5 is excellent and
profitable for everyone, as Paul writes in Titus
Enquiries for infant b*ptism$ have increased
durin8 th¢ year also, and we ran preparation
courses for the families. as well as have them
join our church family. Children's Church and
u¢tle Faith continue to run every 3 weeks out
of 4, allowing the children to grow in their faith
in Jesus and their parents lo do so without the
distractiort of having to care for th¢ir ¢hildr¢n
during Sunday services.
During the year, we preached sernioll series ort
'Prayer: Awe & Inlimacy with God,,
"Journeying with Jesus on the road to
Discipleship {f￿M Luk¢'s Gospel), 'God-
glorifyin¥ Work.. and the Beatitudes from
Matthew s Gospel. The last sern)on series was
chosen to prayerfully help us grow as a Jesus-
like church, with Jesus. values being our
values.
Siewarding our Buildings & Churchyard
The PCC are grnteful for the work of the
Buildings Committee for their diligence in
maintaining the buildings. in pArtieular
resolving a complex issue with our h¢atin8.
Contribuiing io the Wider Life of¢he Church
The PCC ar¢ committed to helping the tnission
of the Church, which we did by contributing lo
our Mission Community. Deanery Synod. and
Partnerships with local evangelical churches.
Our Llfe Groups & Women on Wednesday
studied a Bible Ov¢rview and Isaiah together.
We also ran a Grow Course. for those who had
recently b￿me Christians or wanted a
r¢fresher. to help them know how to live the
Cliristian life.
Fulfilling Besi Praciiee
W¢ ar¢ 8rateful for the help of our Safeguarding
Officers and our Treasurer for their diligence in
helping us keep to the saf¢guardin¥ and
financial re8ulations.
W¢ also began a new monthly Sunday evening
seminar on 15sue5 Facing ChristiAllS Today.

I report to the PCC on my examination of the accounts of the Ecclesiastical Parish of
St Mary the Virgin, Haughton Green for the year ended 3111212023.
Responsibilitles and basis of reporL
As trustees for the charity. members of the PCC are responsible for the preparation
of accounts in accordance with the requirernents of the Charities Act 2011 {'the Act,)
I report in respect of my examination of the accounts carried out under Section 145 of
the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given
by the Charity Commission under sedion 145{5)(b) of the Act.
Bash of Independent ExamlneV8 Statsment
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by
the Chanty Commission. An ex8min8tion indudes a review of the accounting records
kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records.
It al80 includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts,
and seekin9 explanations from the trustees concerning any such matter8. The
procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an
audit, and con88qU8ntly I do not expre88 an audit opinion on the accounts.
