|Summary<br>ofthe main<br>achievements<br>ofthe charity<br>during the year|||Last year, Aqoon<br>School-Home<br>Support<br>Services has continued<br>to<br>work with a number<br>of local primary,<br>secondary<br>and special schools.<br>Due to the Covid-19 pandemic,<br>the level of engagement<br>was as hw|
||||as previous year. Although<br>number of lockdowns<br>were<br>in put in place|
||||by the government<br>to restrict<br>human<br>contact, we have successfully|
||||managed<br>to continue<br>activities through<br>online.|
||||More than 25 children<br>and their families<br>have accessed support<br>last|
||||year<br>from<br>the<br>charity.<br>Aqoon<br>has<br>worked<br>with<br>a<br>number<br>of|
||||organisations<br>including<br>schools,<br>local<br>voluntary<br>and<br>community|
||||organisations<br>as well as parents<br>and carers.|
||||Notably,<br>we have worked<br>with over 16young people who were at risk|
||||of educational<br>underachievement.<br>Aqoon<br>has<br>provided<br>mentoring,|
||||coaching<br>and academic tailored<br>intervention<br>which have helped<br>them|
||||to overcome some ofthe barriers and difficulties<br>they had<br>in engaging|
||||learning.|
||||Through<br>the<br>Inclusion<br>Support<br>Partnership<br>Project which<br>was also|
||||funded<br>by<br>Reaching<br>Communities<br>Fund,<br>Aqoon<br>has<br>worked<br>with|
||||number<br>of schools<br>including<br>Babington<br>Academy,<br>Moat Community|
||||College,<br>City of Leicester College, Soar Valley<br>College,<br>Crownhills|
||||Colhge, and Madani<br>High School.|
||||The project was designed<br>to support<br>chiklren<br>and young<br>people who|
||||have<br>difficulties<br>in<br>engaging<br>with<br>school<br>expectation<br>and<br>risk of|
||||underachievement<br>or<br>school<br>exclusion.<br>A<br>specialist<br>therapeutic|
||||interventions<br>programmes<br>were delivered<br>to support<br>disadvantaged|
||||young people who have dfificulties<br>in engaging<br>school expectations.|
||||Partner<br>schools<br>have<br>welcomed<br>the<br>project<br>and<br>have<br>continually|
||||worked<br>with us. Each school accessed weekly<br>bilingual<br>mentor<br>who|
||||supports<br>their<br>students<br>at school<br>and<br>also<br>provides<br>home-school|
||||liaison<br>support.<br>Schools<br>have<br>also referred<br>number<br>of students<br>to|
||||access Aqoon based Study Support. The study support was delivered|
||||Saturdays<br>and evenings<br>and total of 14 students<br>attended<br>since the|
||||start<br>of the<br>programme,<br>but the<br>delivery<br>of the<br>programme<br>was|
||||suspended<br>due to the Covid-19 Pandemic<br>and the programme<br>has|
||||restarted<br>this academic year and is being delivered<br>online.|
||||Students<br>who had no access to computers<br>received Iaptops to access|
||||the online learning.|
||||We are very pleased<br>the impact<br>Aqoon<br>has made<br>on children<br>and|
||||young<br>people who attended<br>these provisions.<br>Also, the school-based|
||||mentoring<br>and advocacy provided.|
