The B81voir Cricket & Countryside Trust (BCCT) Is a company limited by guarantee. registered In Eiwland
and Wales on 21$1 January 2009 (company number 0679804n. It is a registe￿ charty in England and
Wales (1131442) whose purpose is to advan￿ the education of chiklren through cricket and the
countyside. The Chaiity is govemed by its m￿orandum arKI Artides of Associalion. The Tfustees are
so directors of the Company for the Purpo￿ of compww law.
A panel comprising exiaing Trustees seknts any new Trustees. Trustees are elected and retlre in
accordance wlth the MemorarKlum and Artkn of Asso(?knn. The T￿￿teeS hold regular meetings.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
In ourfifteenth yearwe have continued with our core wojects- 8elvolr Bees, Cricket & Countryside School
Days, Special Needs in School and Days at Belvolr Castle, the Teach Cricket in School Coachlng program,
and the Volunteers programs. and we have continued with our recent wograms of Basketball and a
summer camp. A record total of 4950 children attended our programs.
Belvolr Bees
151 chlldren took part
. 242 hours of community coaching were provlded
. The sessions were supported by 33 local volunteers, glvlng 242 hours helping with sports coaching and
administration of the sessions
Giving children, 4-11 years, the opportunity to play sport and leam skills on a regular basis encouraging
Involvement of adult volunteers in sports activities. involving all members of the family in the activitles
through Soclal interaction in a fuial communty
The Trusl continues to offer "Belvoir Bees" sessions at several rural I small town venues (typlcally a Small
crlcket ground). These sessions provide a taster, not only for children to participate in sport and learn
skllls, but also provkle a focused way for local families to meet and becorne more Involved in developing
their community. This project is cricket based but encourages participation at all leve15 of skill. It Is NOT a
Cricket Club - and there are no team selectlons. It promotes inclusion and regular gl>minute actlvity on a
weekty basis through the summer months.
During 2024 the Belvoir Bees model was dellvered to 5 wral I small county town communitles. Through
the introduction and running of the 8elvoir Bees the Trust has been instrumental in Ihe regeneration of
sm811, rural and In sorne cases failing cricket dubs by collaborating wtth them to develop sustainable junior
cricket sedions and enabllng a pathway for youngsters lo access competttlve Junlor crlcket:

In 2025. our aim is for the Belvoir project to continue at least 5 venues. The sessions will also be
used to further encourage volunteer engagement and community integration through th8 Introduction of

To continue the development of Junior cricket for 11+ the Trust will continue to collaborate closely wlth
local clubs in supporting them until they become self-sufficient in runnlng their own junlor cricket. The
Trust will also support Belvoir Bees venues in worf(Ing wilh the English and Vvales Cricket Board (ECB)
and nUrtur1r￿ relatlonshlps with the regional ECB Boards to develop and grow CrfckeL

The Trust aims lo help the educalion of primary age children (and older children with special needs or
disabilities}. This Is delivered by bringing children to the countryside and offering them multl-a¢tivity days
which will include cricket, healthy Ilfestyle choices, countyside pursuits arKI familnglrural issues.
Wth the support of Her Grace the Duchess of Rutland and the Belvoir Estate staff and local volunteers
both sport coaches and those involved in the local countyside. The days typically inclLKled 2 hours
sporting actiV6tieslcoaching and 3 hours of 'education' _ learning about the countryslde from local people
suth as the farmer, woodman, angler, gamekeeper, huntsman etc.
In 2025. we wlll continue to extend the reach of the Trust to include schools from within Lelcestershlre,
Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, and Rutland where the school days will be used to promole all the Bees
venues. We will also look to partner with other similar organisations that deliver 'outside' educatlon. We
will also be working closely with the schools to enhance the educational and Ilfestyle messages that are
delivered and where possible look to twin schools from dlverse backgrounds (i.e., small rural schools with
larger, multi￿ultUral inner-city schools).
We contlnue to offer a learnlng resource for schools which wovided a project for teachers prior to their
visit and a follow up after thelr vislt. The alm of this is to support our schools and provlde longer exposure
lo countyside learning to all children involved wlth the BCCT. It has been very well recelved by teachers
and children alike and we will review the resutts wlth a Vie4Y to improving It and keeping it relevant year
on year..

and volunteers grabbed the attention of the students. rhere were lots of dlscussions about the day
when we returned to school.

80 hours of volunteer time were given towards the scheme.

The Trust Is also worklTrJ to develop the fadlfties al the Knlpton Crid¢et Ground. to provide an Indoor basa
lo deliver our activilses all year-round. We have secured plannlng pennission, and an architect has drawn
up plans. various reports have been commlssioned. indLMJing a Buift Hwltage Statement, a business plan
developed. Concurrently, we have also begun appllcations for fundlng.
Currently the Trust h8s secured more than £600,000 t¢)wards the new build. It wlll tske a slgnlficant
Investment to achieve our goal of developmg our cthanty further, but we are determined to look at ways in
whlch we can grow.

Trust Chief Executive, Daffen Bicknell, will continue with the 'ambassadorial' work and the fundraising
events and activlties wlll be planned strategically to maximise relum and engagement with Stakeholders
- raising the profile of the Tntst and erwing the message Is communlcated to the 'large¢ cricketing
communlty.

During the year, the Trust received charitable donations. grants and other income amounting to
£406,320 compared to £176,899 in Ihe previous 11-month period. This included £250.195 (2023-
£75,000) in respect of the proposed new building at Knipton. Expenditure of £90,028 (202&£19.473)
was incurred in respect of the new building in the period.
After considering net income from fundraising evenls of £13,983 (2023- £13.669), fundralsing Costs of
£27,472 (2023- £28,211), direct charitable costs of £107.415 (202> £97,490) and other costs of
£26,762 (2023-£14,977), there was a positive movement in unrestricted funds of £10,417 (2023-
£22.614 negative).
Reserves policy
It is the aim of the Trustees to keep at least 6 months, expenditure In general reserves for year-on-
year projects and to buikl enough capilal to undertake longer-tenn projects.
On 31 August 2024. these general reserves (being the balance on unrestricted funds) amounted to
£53.899 and the actual related expenditure was £173,464. The balance on restricted funds was
£359,580 relating to unspent funds for the new building.
Going Concern Ststement
The Trustees have reviewed Trust's resourcas and commitments and are satisfied that it has sufficient funds
to meet its obligations over the coming financial year.
