When l arrived in posi ihc PCC had been explc)ring IhL P(i%%ibilily ol. 4Llling Alion Road to relea%c lund8 Ihat Lould be used lo pay pari.sh sh<ire dnd repleiiish our Savings. After a period of Lonsuliation wilh the wider Lon)munily il was decided not l() sell Alton Road Hall and in8(cad io rai,8e funds to carry out improvem¢nls 10 Ihe fabric $0 th4it il could Continue to be u.%¥d by coIiiniunily gr()ups (.%uLh as Mini MiLe pre-school and Unifonned ()rganisaiion%) and io be able ic) charge higher rale% to otl)cr hirers. During (he last year we have been able to fit a new oven, re-varnish the floor and re-paint ihe hall. amongsi oiher improvemenis. These work.s have been achieved due to ihL genernsicy of St Marks and Si .8aviiiur.% congregaiions giving towards ihe Alton Road Hall fund, and due 10 ihc hard work of the Mini Mice team working with lh¢ uniformcd organi%alions to run a Spring and Autumn fair. It has been gicat io s¢¢ ihL Church and c(Imniunity groups working togeiher and seeing the irusi closer links have fostered a8 a result. A great deal of thaiik% rnusl also go toward.s ihe babric commiiiee who have made ihes¢ improvemenis possible. I would especially like lo thank John Gray and Adrian James for Iheir leadcr5hip of the commiltee.
