Trustees report for year ending December 31[st] 2022
Fortunately, after a ‘stop start’ year in 2021 due to the ongoing Covid restrictions, 2022 has been somewhat more ‘normal’ allowing us to fully open up all the facilities at the Sports Centre. It was a joy to see activities returning and the community enjoying the benefits of regular exercise and the resumption of social interaction.
Needless to say, after a tricky couple of years, things needed a bit of a kick start, with extra promotion and advertising to get back on track. As part of this strategy, we held an open evening in August to showcase the wonderful sports and community facilities, activities and clubs on offer.
We were also mindful of the financial constraints on family budgets and the need to balance our running costs and overheads with making access to the Sports Centre sufficiently affordable so as to encourage more participation.
The results were positive with a steady increase in gym membership and overall foot fall for activities and clubs. Consequently, income has increased too.
The year culminated with the return of the hugely popular fireworks display and bonfire evening in early November. The attendance numbers far exceeded all our expectations. Full credit to our volunteers who worked extremely hard to make the event such a success.
This report would not be complete without expressing heartfelt gratitude to our team of volunteers, working alongside the Trustees and Directors of MSACC to keep the doors of this amazing community facility open on a daily basis.
The year ended with good momentum and enthusiasm and we are looking forward to even better times in 2023. Working off the back of a successful 2022, we will be engaging with the wider community for opportunities to make the best use of all
the facilities, supporting existing activities and welcoming new ones.
