To address the risk of fraud through management bias and override of controls, we.. • performed analylical procedures to identify any unusual or unexpected relationships., + lesled journal entries to identify unusual Iransaclions., and assessed whether judgements and assumptions made in determining the accounting estimates were indicativ& of potential bias. In response to the risk of irregularities and non<ompliance with laws and regulations. we designed procedures which included, bul were not limited to: review of the minutes of meetings of those charged with governance., and enquiring of management as lo actual and potential litigation and claims. There are inherent limitations in our avdil procedures described above. The more removed that laws and regulations are from financial Iransaclions, the less likely il is that we would become aware of non-complian. Auditing standards also limit the audil procedures required lo Identify non-compliance with laws and regulallons lo enquiry of the Trustees and other management 2nd the inspection of regulatory and legal correspondence, if any. Material misstatements that arise due lo fraud can be harder lo detect than those that arise from error as they may involve deliberate concealment or collusion.
