accountsinaccordancewiththeFinancialReportingStandardapplicableintheUK andRepublicofIreland(FRS 102)
(effective 1 January 2019).

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Objectives and aims

To introduce and enhance skills in football.
ToincreaseparticipationinfootballandregularphysicalactivityinlinewiththeambitionsofSportsWalesand the
Active Wrexham Strategy.
To improve the physical literacy of young people and our other target groups.
To use football and physical activity to improve educational attainment, self confidence and community cohesion.
Toutiliseourprofessionalsportingparent(WrexhamFC)toencourageinvolvementintheRacecourse Community
Foundation programmes.
To promote Wrexham FC as a fans owned community football club to the people of North Wales.
To work in partnership with Glyndwr University, LEA, Coleg Cambria, Betsi Cadwalader University Health Trust.
To provide quality and enjoyable programmes, delivered in a safe and fit for purpose friendly environment.

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Significant activities

The RacecourseCommunityFoundationis responsiblefor the deliveryand developmentof a diverseset of projects and
programmesacrossNorthWales.Wehave,overthelast12months,beeninreceiptofanddeliveredthe Premier
LeaguePrimaryStarsgrant.Thisgrantallowedus to developanddelivera projectaimedat primaryschoolsto  enhance
literacy,numeracyandphysicalactivitystandards.The projectwas deliveredto over15 primaryschoolswitha number
of funfootballtournamentsalso takingplace.In partnershipwith the NationalLeagueTrustwe havealso runthe fourth
yearof a girl'sprogrammewithunder8s,10,12's,14'sand16'steamsin additionto ourWomen'steam.As partof this
project,wealsodelivered100hoursofgirlsonlyfootballto10HighSchoolsand100hoursofgirlsfootball taster
sessionsto25localprimaryschoolsacrossWrexhamandFlintshire.InpartnershipwiththeFootballAssociation of
Walesand as part of our aim to increasefemaleparticipation,we havealso run a projectto supportlocalclubsin  setting
up girl'sfootballteams.Thisyearhasalsoseenus continueto receivefundingto runtheCICSCymruProject.The aim
ofthisprojectistousethepoweroffootballtohelptacklecrimeandanti-socialbehaviourinareaswherethese issues
areprevalent.WedeliverfootballsessionsatminimumcostatourhubatYsgolMorganLlwyd,Wrexhamon a
Thursdayeveningforplayersagedbetween12-16,withtheaimbeingtooffertheprovisiontokeepthe individual
away from trouble and offer a cure for boredom.
We securedfundingto providea step intocoachingfor 10 youngpeoplefromdisadvantagedbackgroundsby providing
themwithaccesstotheFAWLeadersAwardcoachingqualificationalongwithfirstaidandchild safeguarding
qualifications.The participantswerethenmentoredby RCF staffto coachwithinthe RCF SoccerSchoolprogramme to
give them hands on experience and an opportunity to utilise their newly gained qualifications.
InpartnershipwiththeDisabilityLiaisonOfficeratWrexhamAFC,wehavecreatedanAutismFriendly football
sessionforchildrenagedbetween4-11.RCFstaffdeliverthissessionduringeveryschoolholidaytoautistic children
andtheirfamiliesthatallowsthemtotakepartinactivitiestogetherasafamilyandalsothefreedomto express
themselves without the pressure that a mainstream environment brings.
Wehavecontinuedtodevelopourcoreprogrammeswhichincludeeducationprojects(literacy,numeracyand healthy
livingthroughfootball),afterschoolfootballclubs,futsalandminifootballcentres,centresofdevelopment, mental
healthsessions,girlsonlyfootball,andsoccerschools.Thisyearwehaveexpandedourfemalesectiontoinclude a
girlsonlyturnupandplaysessionforhighschoolgirls,somethingthatisnotofferedanywhereelseinthe Wrexham
andsurroundingareas.Weaimtopromotehealthylivingthroughoutourcommunity,aswellaspromoting Wrexham
AFC. This can be seen in the numberof our participantsthat visit WrexhamAFC eitheras part of a groundtour project,
or to experience a match day activity at a first team game.
We havealso expandedour programmeto includea walkingfootballsessionfor peopleoverthe age of 40. This session
isdeliveredwiththeaimofprovidingasafeenvironmentforthosewhomaystrugglewithsocialisolation and/or
mentalhealthissuesandalsoforthosewhowanttokeepactive.Allparticipantsareofferedtoarriveearlyatthe RCF
classroom for a cup of tea and a chat before taking part in the physical activity.
We now havean increasedpoolof coachesand volunteersspanningacrossNorthWalesand are lookingto increase this
weekonweek.WeworkwithGlyndwrUniversityasapartnerinthisrecruitment,offeringstudentstheopportunity to
gainexperienceandalsoworkwithindividualstoupskillthemthroughtheircoachingqualifications. Glyndwr
Universitycurrentlyrunafootballspecificdegreeandweareabletoofferworkexperienceaspartofthiscourse. We
haverunworkshopsforlocalschoolstohighlighttheproblemofracisminsociety.Theshowracismthered card
projecthashelpedchildrenunderstandthedifficultiesthatariseincommunityareasandthesechildrenwillpass the
message on that any form of racism should not be tolerated.
We arenowworkingwitha numberof partnersto enableourdeliveryof projectsandprogrammes..We currently work
withtheFootballAssociationofWales,TheNationalLeagueTrust,ThePremierLeague,GlyndwrUniversity, Excell
supply,Wrexham,FlintshireandDenbighshirecountycouncilsandWrexhamAFCtoenableandenhance our
programme.

ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE

Charitable activities

TheRacecourseCommunityFoundationoverthepasttwelvemonthshastakengreatstridestoberegardingas a
leadingcommunityproviderinWrexhamandthroughoutNorthWalesandparticipationhasnowspreadtothree other
countiesduetoitssuccessinWrexhamandFlintshire.Wearecurrentlyworkingwithlocalschoolsand community
groups to help in their fund raising by helping out a school fayers and local fund-raising events.
Wedeliveranumberofprojectsandsessionstodisadvantagedindividualsandworkalongsideschoolstotarget those
withpooracademicattainmenttoensureeveryonegetsachancetobeapartofourprogram.Schoolscancometo our
bespokeclassroomtoreceiveadditionallessonsandagroundtour;thishasbeendoneforanumberofschoolsas an
alternative school trip for pupils who couldn't afford to go on residential school trips.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

Governing document

Thecharityiscontrolledbyitsgoverningdocument,adeedoftrust,andconstitutesalimitedcompany,limited by
guarantee, as defined by the Companies Act 2006.

Recruitment and appointment of new trustees

Anytrusteeisinvitedtonominateapotentialnewtrusteethatispersonallyknowntoandrecommendedbythem. The
nominee must be accepted by the majority of existing trustees.
Thenominatedpersonmustbe a permittedpersonas definedbytheCharitiesAct andof relevantskillor knowledge to
thebenefitoftheRacecourseCommunityFoundation.Trusteesarepersonallyresponsibleforensuringtheirskills and
knowledgearemaintainedtoastandardwhichencompasseschangesinlegislationimpactingonthe operational
activities of the trust.
InaccordancewiththememorandumofassociationoftheRacecourseCommunityFoundation,GGJones,AJ Lewis
and E G Powell will retire at the forthcoming annual general meeting, and being eligible, will stand for re-election.

Organisational structure

Thetrusteeswhohaveservedduringtheyearandsincetheyearendaresetoutonpage1.Trusteesaresubscribers to
thememorandumofassociationandthetrusteesarelegallyresponsiblefortheoverallmanagementandcontrolof the
charity. They hold at least six ordinary meetings in each year.

Induction and training of new trustees

Onappointmentanewlyelectedtrusteemusthave,asaminimum,readandacceptedthememorandumof association
andarticlesofassociationoftheRacecourseCommunityFoundationandread,understoodandacceptedtheduties and
responsibilitiesof a trusteeas outlinedin the CharityCommissionsbookletsCC3- The essentialtrustee:whatyou need
to know, and CC3(a) - Responsibilities of charity trustees.
Newlyelectedtrusteesmustunderstandindetailtheethos,visionandobjectivesoftheRacecourse Community
Foundation.

Independent examiner's report to the trustees of The Racecourse Community Foundation ('the Company')

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Company for the year ended 30th June 2020.

Responsibilities and basis of report

Asthecharity'strusteesoftheCompany(andalsoitsdirectorsforthepurposesofcompanylaw)youare responsible
for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 ('the 2006 Act').
HavingsatisfiedmyselfthattheaccountsoftheCompanyarenotrequiredtobeauditedunderPart16ofthe2006 Act
andare eligiblefor independentexamination,I reportin respectof my examinationof yourcharity'saccountsas carried
outundersection145oftheCharitiesAct2011('the2011Act').IncarryingoutmyexaminationIhavefollowed the
Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5) (b) of the 2011 Act.

Independent examiner's statement

Ihavecompletedmyexamination.Iconfirmthatnomattershavecometomyattentioninconnectionwith the
examination giving me cause to believe:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Company as required by section 386 of the 2006 Act; or

2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or

3. the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of section 396 of the 2006 Act other than any requirement that the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination; or

4. the accounts have not been prepared in accordance with the methods and principles of the Statement of Recommended Practice for accounting and reporting by charities (applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)).

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements

Thefinancialstatementsofthecharitablecompany,whichisapublicbenefitentityunderFRS102,have been
preparedinaccordancewiththeCharitiesSORP(FRS102)'AccountingandReportingbyCharities: Statement
ofRecommendedPracticeapplicabletocharitiespreparingtheiraccountsinaccordancewiththe Financial
ReportingStandardapplicableintheUKandRepublicofIreland(FRS102)(effective1January 2019)',
FinancialReportingStandard102'TheFinancialReportingStandardapplicableintheUKandRepublic of
Ireland'andtheCompaniesAct2006.Thefinancialstatementshavebeenpreparedunderthehistorical cost
convention.

Income

All incomeis recognisedin the Statementof FinancialActivitiesoncethe charityhas entitlementto the funds, it
is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.

Expenditure

Liabilitiesarerecognisedasexpenditureassoonasthereisalegalorconstructiveobligationcommitting the
charitytothatexpenditure,itisprobablethatatransferofeconomicbenefitswillberequiredinsettlement and

The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities.

Fund accounting

Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.
