Activities
The Aluna Foundation is founded to deliver Aluna and promote environmental sustainability, renewable technologies and intercultural dialogue. It will do this through Aluna - the world's first tidal powered Moon Clock, a zero carbon landmark that unites art, culture, science and the environment - and its associated cultural and educational education programmes for community and visitors alike.
Objects: To Advance The Education Of The Public In The Subject Of Renewable Energy (In Particular, But Not Limited To, Tidal Energy And Tidal Technologies) And In The Role And Significance Of The Moon In Different World Cultures By: -A) Developing, Managing And Operating For The Benefit Of The Public A Tidal Power Moon Clock And Associated Facilities;b) Developing And Delivering A Public Education Programme On Renewable Energy (In Particular, But Not Limited To, Tidal Energy And Tidal Technologies) And On The Role And Significance Of The Moon Within A Variety Of Different Cultures As Well As Ancillary Issues Of Education Value Such A Sustainable Living And Global Warming, With A View To The Programme And The Interaction Between Attendees And Organisers Also Promoting And Facilitating Cross-Cultural Dialogue, Understanding And Harmony;c) Educating People In The Promotion Of Sustainable Development In Urban Areas ('Sustainable Development' Meaning Development Which Meets The Needs Of The Present Without Compromising The Ability Of Future Generations To Meet Their Own Needs), In Particular But Not Exclusively By Encouraging And Furthering The Development Of Renewable Energy Generation And Encouraging The Recycling Of Material Resources, Andd) Such Other Charitable Methods As The Directors In Their Discretion Shall Decide.
