The accounts for the year we set wi on pa￿ 4 to 7. The twst&s have taken the opportunrty to
prepare these fina￿tal stat￿nentS in aC£Ordar￿ vAlh Charrt￿$ Act 2011 Section 144, using the
Re￿ptS and Payments basis av*1ab￿ to small thartties, the Uni(ed Reformed Church guidance.

in part reduced by inueased hire inu)me fcf ujr hals, the manse bwng let ￿aIn and a grant from
Syn¢JJ 1th¥8rds the cost of our Youth Workw. Once more we have nottransferred tl* usual £30k lo our
Repair Fund rdying on pre￿￿S reserves forthe time L*ing.
The designated fvjnds are detailed in note 2 lo the statements. These fuThls have reduced during the
year due to transfers out from the Vario￿ fvjnds I￿ludIng £30,000 on accx)unt of works at the m8nse.
We still owe appro￿rnat￿y £20,OCK) for these vKxks. At the end of year the lotsl of Ouf Designated
Funds were £173,908. Ot this totd £67,220 1$ hdd in a cash fund to help ￿ the cost of repL3ciThJ the
sanctuary roof when the bme comes. *lditicn have investrnents all(Kat&J to this fvrKI and worth
£116,740 at 31 Decemter 2023.
The restri(led fund openir¥J balaice comprised Ma￿ty fvrKts held cn behalf of locd churches for work
with the homeless gving nI￿l shdter supported by All Pewe Al Places butlhese were repaid lo them
duTing the year leavir¥J a balan￿ of£900 being mcxwe£4lected fcf (ther causes bul notyettransferred
to them.
Reserves amourt to appr0￿mate[Y 3.5 months expenditure whth is considered satisfactory in view of
all exceptional expenditu￿ ￿1￿9 mel from Destgnated Fund5. A ft￿t￿r defi¢it is expected in 2024 lJJt
at present manageable from reserves.
Investment Policy
In the past our lunds were 811 held in b8nk ￿¥jnts. H￿￿eVer, th wewere advised that work on the
hi9tr￿leve1 roots was not likety to be n￿ssary for at least 5 years. £50,000 was tr￿sfe[Ted to COIF
Investment Ethical Fund in 2016 in the hope lh* %%e enjoy a higher retum and at least keep pace
with inflation. At the year end this investment wras £116,740 haviThJ recovered in value during the
year.
Risk Management durfng the year
The trustees have id￿tiffied vthat thlry bel*ve to be the major risks vthich the church fxes and are
satisfied that these have or wll be adequately mitvJat&J where necessary.
Voluntee
As would be expected within a church slruthjre, most *b"vth"es of the church are (*rried tyjl by
volunteers. apart from arty StiperKSiary Minister ￿ is paid fr(￿ a ￿ntral church Ministry and Mission
fund to whKh this church contributes, and our Organists who are paid di￿tlY by the church. During the
prewous yearthe church did stsrt to emFYoy two parttime worker5 to assist wth administration and wth
our youth work but we are still very ffl￿h reliant cfi our members lo fu￿11 the ot4'eclNes of the church.
Publlc Boneflt
When planning our activi(*s for the year, the Eld￿￿ have Cc￿s￿le￿d the Commission's guidance on
public bwefft indudiryJ the swffic guKlance ￿ chariti.es for the advancement of religion. Everyone is
welcome lo attend our regular services and other activtties. S¢)me of our regular vu$hippers are
sidenls in ￿l￿e￿la1 homes in area and wtrEre requested tlw are assisted to get lo the church
activities including VKsrslip. t)urirrfJ the year memtvs aJain considered apptying to register otjr
sanctuary for sane sex marriages. Tlws vrds duty at a Church Meeting after the year end and
the pr￿esS is currenuy in hand.

Worship remains centra to the lrfe of Palmers Green URC. and we are gratefvl lo the ministws, lay
preachers. c￿r own I￿)rs￿l"p teams wtrKJ l￿d serwces.
The Church is a MeMt￿ of C￿r¢he$ Tcoether in p￿merS Green, WinChm￿e Hill and Gran￿ Park,
committed to undertaking activitÉes together whwe pc6sible and appropri*e. We have continued to
rk wrth these otherchurches during the year, meeting regularlywth reKYesentsts"ves, and participating

neighbouring Unf(ed Refomied Churches. The churthes in gr￿p work tOget￿r on iSSLkS including
ministry, mission, atThJ disupleship.
During 2019 we stsrted to l¢x& at the enviromiental imp¥t of our ￿tIV￿leS. var￿US changes were
made so that we now oKerate in a"ryeenerf way, and the church waltfied for a Bronze award frcffn Eco
Church. In 2019 we also bewe 8 memtrw of ￿ Inclusive Church nets%rJrk. vthich "cdebrales and
affirnis every peison and does not discriminate.. This h8s continued in the last year we have
received an Ec¢ audit of piemises and are V￿rkIng thi￿gh r&cthmendati¢x￿.
The churEh c¢￿tInUeS to set aside $2.5CwJpa for Charit￿ vknlch is dIStritr￿ted at the yw end aNI also
to support disaster appeals as approwate.
Our chltrch membership at the end of 2023 was 57. There *Ere sevwal in the congregation attending
services regularly ￿ Sunday moming5 wtrKs t￿tr ncrt y* ccrfnmitted to fijll memtwship.
The appointment of a youth worker tCY•vards the end of prewous year has n(hY C￿ent￿ a small
regular group of young peorAe att￿dIng on SLFnday momings. Holiday ￿treach activities have had a
variable level of lake up bul neaty 100 yourrtJ people from a l(tal school att￿ded a mid week session
ov¥ 3 days lo learn a little aLN)ut the Christkin Faith. continLe to eryoy th& regular parade services
of ¢)ur uniformed organisations vthere the setvice is manty Sed by the young people.
Our magazine was pr0dl￿e￿ bi monthty and is re￿Ned partiwL4rly ty tIKJse who can no Songer
join us on a Sunday. We a￿ trKJugh n¢M looknrwJ lo tFMs being projuced quartety other means lo
irfom of curyent activities.
We continue lo seek a new minister to lead pastorate and are grateftjl that Rev Martin Legg has
taken on the responsibilty of our Interim Moderator to assist in the process.
