As we deeided not lo transfer the usual £30k to our Designated F￿}d$ for kyopty repai￿ aThY then
recaved an irk8urance r&eipt of £28k we ￿ded the year with a surplus on our Unrestricted Fund of
£33.239 vknich ￿en adde(I to the balance brought f￿ard gives us £59.735 to carry fomard in this
fund
The des¥Jn*wJ fijnds are detail￿1 in note 2 to the statements. T￿se funds have reduced durtrig the
year due to payments to replace the boilws in halls complex. Al thg end of the year the total of o
Oesignaled Funds was £2111,721. Of this total £62,676 is held in a ¢a5h fvnd lo help wlh the cost of
replacing the sanctuary r(tJf the b.me comes. In a(kJitKsn v* have Investments allocated lo this
fund and worth £114,070 at 31 December 2021.
The restricted fund comprises mainty knds held bthaif of beal chwches ftrwork with the h¢yneles$

Reserves amount to approximatety 6 morths e>perKlitwe w1￿ch is conshaer6J S*isfactory in vw of all
exceptional expenditure beirvj met frc¥n Designat&1 Funds. It is kn¢YM) that more costs are likdy lo be
ineurred in the coming years to Su￿¢ the orqoing We￿ of the churth.
Invostmgnt Pollcy
In the past our funds were all ￿￿1 in bank ￿(￿nts. Ho￿ver, wfien we were advised that work on the
high-level roots Is not likety to be ￿eSsary for at le85t 5 years. £50.000 was transferred to COIF
Invoslment Ethical Fund In 2018 in the hope that V+P can enjoy a higher relum and at least keep pace
with inflalion. At the year eThl thrd invesb7Wrt was wuth £114,070 arKI rt 1$ still consdered this work 15
not yet required.

As would be expecte(I wthin a chwch str￿lUr9. all activtties ofthè church are carrfed out by volunteers
apart from the Slipendiary Minister %tho ss from a central ¢hurch Ministry and MissK)n fuTra lo which
this church contributes, and our Organists vkno are paid directty by the church. The wot* of the church
Is, Iherelore. Substantrally dependent UFon the voluntwy members, bul il woukt not be appropnate lo
consider thè Val￿ of their tlrr*.
Publlc Bengfft
When planning tyjr actNrtte$ for the year. Elders have ¢(￿S￿lered th8 CrmmissKJn's guidance on
public benefit including the SFecffic guidancè on charit￿ fry the advancement of religion. Everyo￿ is
wekome to attend our regular $eNces and other xtiwtigs. Some of our regular worshippers are
resid￿lS in residentral homes in the area an¢J where requested they are assisted lo get to the church
aclivrttèg inclu(knng worship.

preachers, and c￿r ¢)vm worship teams lead services.
The ChLffth Is a memter of Cl￿rc￿ T&athr in Paknws Green. Winthmore HNI and Grange Park,
commrtted to undertaking actiwlies together where pc6sible and appropriate. We have continued lo
work wth these other churchesdurirwJ the ye¥. meeting reguLgrfy vhth represenlalives, and participating
in PL4pil exchanges and moming prayers dLtring the Week of Praytr for Christian Unity. We also
ticipaled in Lent Groups. This rela11c￿s￿"p with other cMTches is seen to be an imwtant means of
Increasi￿ our effective service in communty.

The church has foll¢xved all 9)vwnment arKI any additi)nal deneffiinalional rp£ommendations.
Tlis has resulted in the buklings being Closed for mosl of the year lo all but a few permitted users. This
in Iwn has le¢ to a red￿tic￿ in tyjr irKome from users of£6CI(. This has been mrtigaled lo some extent
by reduced costs and a￿ currenlty making a claim on ow insurers fLY this lost income. However the
work and W￿shIp of the church continued in otherways arnl we ￿e not expecting any detrimental effe¢l
on our ongoing missM)n.

We coJl8¢ted lo supwrt varic￿$ charities. church has conlinuèJ lo support work in Tal)ora,
Tanzania, thr￿gh one of (￿r church members rebJr￿d from workin9 therè during 2008.
We continue lo cdled fwd and cash d￿tatiC1)S for North Enfidd Food Bank. During the wnler of
2020121 we hosted a Night Shetter one nigm a week fcf Ioc81 homeless peo￿0. This was Coknordinaled
by All Peo￿e, All Places, with drferenl ltral chwches htsiing one night each 80 that the whJle week
was covered.

just befo￿ Christmas 2020. We were able to reopen from 2021.
Vvhilsl we could not FK)Id ￿￿)rS11"p services in our bJildir¥Js, online NKJrsPip serytegs (￿r Lo￿1 Area
Group of URCS were led by JJr Ministw and crther prexhers each Sunday using Zoom software. and
these were well attende(J by ojr members. Th)se ¥¥ho p￿f￿r&I ncrf lo join online worship were sent
weekly worship services by post, alorrfJ wlh bulletin and magaLne. Other regular church activities
and meetings also took ￿a¢e online unb"I we ￿re able lo re-OFen premises.
Our monthly magazine continues lo be an ffnportant means of coMmun￿lI0n to memtw and local
community, a new edrtor w8s apP￿'rrteO to Clmty'nue this vh)rk at t1￿ of 2021.
During this year, our ministw, Revd. M￿￿le Smith infomied us that haj accepted an appointment
to the staff of the Pacrfic T￿oI(￿j1Cal Cd*e in Fiji. Her final service was held al the end of October
afthough remains in pastcfal charge pending herdepgrture lo Fiji. whth has been ¢*layed by Cov
19 restrictKJns The church has alrea￿ tegun the prC￿e$S of seeking a new Minister,. a va￿¢Y
Committee has teen sel up, and an Interim Moderator appointed.

The church building arjd the manse are vested in URC Thames Norlh Synod Trust as trustees and are not
church assets. They are held for the benefit of PaIrne￿ Green Church h) accordance the statutory twsts
applicable to URC prtsperties under the URC Ads. For insurance purwjses the church buildings are insured by
the church for £10,337,322 and the manse for £707.643. The church contents are insured by the thurch for
£83,005, ancl the Organ for £979,580.
