Charitable Objecrs
The principal aclivity of the Foundation 15 to provide bursarie5 and other financial support to current and prospective
pupils ol Ashville Colle8e who would otherwise be unable to 8ttend the College,- and ancillary to the 8bove, any such
exclusNely charitable purposes as the Trustees from time to time may decide.
The Foundation rneeis the definition of a public benefit entity under FR5102. The Trustees confirm that they have had
re8ard to the guidance contained in the Charily Commi5510n's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the
Foundation's aims and objective and in planning activities.
Achievements and perforrnance
The main focus in the year to 31 Augusr 2025 has been to provide additional support to A5hville pupi15 and farnilies in
need. through the provision of bursaries to cover school fees. During the year the Foundation provided support to
two pupils. Following the Introduttion of VAT on to school fee5 in Jan 2025. no further named 8rant5 were awarded.
Financial Review
The Foundation, with the support of College staff, has a150 been attive in trying to increase the awareness of thé
Foundation and its activities. Total Income for the year was £26.72412024.. £37,413). Income conslsted primarily of
regular don3tions through current parents of the College.
Reserves Policy
The Directors, policy is to rn2intain sufficient reserves bt the year-end to cover the Foundation's cornmitment5 forthe
followin8 year. At 31 August 2025 the reserves were £29,68412023.. £12,060), no commrtments have been tnade lor
the academic year 202S126.
Structure. Governance and management
The charity is eoverned by the memorandum and artides tsf association Incorporated 29 April 2009.

There is a close relationship beiween Ashville College and the Foundation with a number of Governors of the College
also being directors of the Foundation. Accounts preparer is also an employee of Ashville College.

The law applicable to charities in England & Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statemenrs for each

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The Charity 15 registered with the Charity Commission under registration number 1130571.
The principal accounting policies adopted bythe Trustees are described below.
Basis of Accounting
The financial statement5 have been prepared under the hisiorical cost convention and in accordance with the
Statement of Recommended Practice "Accountln8 and Reporiing by Charities ISORP 20191" applicable to
charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financièr Aeportine Stand8rd applicable in the UK
and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021, effective l January 2019, and the Companie5 Act 2(K)6.
Basis of preparation of financial staternent5- going concern basls
The Directors. having taken account of projected future income and the existing levels of reserves held within
the charity, believe that the Foundation has adequate resources to continue its activities for the foreseeable
future. Accordingly, they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statement5.
Income
All income is recognised in the st8teTnent of financial actlvllies when the charity has entitlement to the funds,
condition5 for receipt have been rnet, it is probable that ihe income will be received and the amount can be

Donations received are recoenised in the Statement of Financial Activities in the period in whith the charity is

easily quantifiable, no adju5tFnent has been included in the financial statefflents for this.

The trust holds the following funds.

Restricted funds- these funds can only be used for particular restritted purposes within the obje¢t5 of the

Financial Instruments
Financial assets and financial liabilities are recognised when the charity becomes a party to the contractual
provisions of the instrument. All finanaal assets and liabilitie5 are initially measured at transaction price
(including transartion costs).
The charily onty has financial assets and linancial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial in5trurnents.
Baslc financial instruments are Initialty recognised at transaction value and subsequently measured at their
settlement value.
Taxation
As a registered charrty the Foundatlon Is exempr from income tax on its charitable activities.
CTltlcal accounting judgernents and key sources of estimation uncertainty
In ihe application of the charity's accounting policies. which are described above, the Trustees are required to
make jud8ements, estimate5 and assumptions 8bout the carrying amounts o13ssets and liabilities that 3re nor
readily apparent from other sources. The estimates and a550ciated assumptltsn5 are based on historical
experien￿ and other factors that are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differfrom these estimates.
