PCC Report
All remaining govemTnent Covid restrictions were lffted in February arKI by May the Church do0￿ were
once again opened daily from 9am to 4pm.
Follow7ng receipt of the Quinquennial Report al the end of 2021 David Shefriff {Architect} mel with the
PCC in February to answer questions and explain the priorities. There is a significant amount of urgent
work to be done in particular wrth falling masonry and the roof la new roof is required)., temporary repairs
were undertaken to the roof following stom7 damage during this year. The abseilers who undertook the
work also removed some greenery which had taken root.
Healing charges for weddings and funerals have had to ￿ increased Significantly due lo increased fuel
charges. This continues to be a problem with prices rising Significantly throughout the year. Events in
winter have been Severely curtailed as we cannot adequately heal the building. Faculty approval was
sought and given for the installation of under pew heating in the Chancel where services will now be held
during the winter. The Chancel heating has enabled some Smaller events lo take place during the
winter. We also tenefrted from a grant towards heating for Christmas events from Hedon Town Council
which was much appreciated.
This year we have managed to hold many events during the summer which have brought in some much-
needed funds., events induded concerts, a theatrlcal event and a beer festival. Some of these will
hopefully become annual events and grow in popularity. We Gontinue to explore innovative ways lo
encourage the community to use and visFt the Ghurch focusing our efftjrts mainly on the Spring, Summer
and earfy Autumn month$.
The Project Group Continues alongside the Di0￿e lo develop plans for the long-temi future of St
Augustine's and to seek large scale grant funding. To this end variotjs necessary suNeys have been
conducted during the year including an Environmental Survey by Tobit Curteis. those regarding the
glazing and for a$￿st0S are still lo take place.
The Pantry foodbank continues to provide a service to the communty on a weekly basis. Several new
users have joined us in recent weeks. During the moming hol drinks are provKled gtving an 0p￿tunrtY

helped by inslallalion of a radiant healer which lakes a little of the chill off the air in the North
Transept. We received a welcome donation of £500 from Sainsburys to be used for Christmas products
and meal in December.
FINANCE
The accounts with this report are self*xpL4natory but the followng notes help to explain the result. The totsl
income for the year was £78779 and the total expendrf(ure £60561. These figures ￿fleCt the increased income
re¢eived fTom events during 2022 whth has also helped to meet our obligation lo the Diocese again this year.
