ROYSTON DISTRICT AGM
THURSDAY 10 JUNE 2021 (VIA ZOOM)
District Commissioners Report
Once again we have had a very busy scouting year from May 2020 up to April 2021 - mainly of course on Zoom! The leaders have all amazed me with the imaginative ideas they have come up with to keep their sections active and entertained.
Sadly we have been unable to run our usual Group and District camps, but hope that we will be able to get back to these activities in the near future.
Leader and Executive Committee training modules have been moving along, and I would like to thank those of you who have progressed your training over the past twelve months. It is vital that we keep our mandatory training up to date, and complete our leader training within the three year period.
I have been pleased to be able to do some “doorstep” presentations during lockdown, and would like to congratulate those who have been awarded Wood Badges, Commissioners Commendations & Chief Scout Commendations over the past year. There have also been quite a lot of long service awards presented. There are still some awards to come through from County, but there is quite a delay due to staff being furloughed and a large backlog of awards to process.
It is great to see many of you back to face to face scouting with your sections - at last!
Once again I would like to thank everyone for your continued support and for everything you are doing for the young people in your groups, particularly the challenges you have all faced during lockdown.
