ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION
The Parochial Church Council is a body corp)rale estatrAished by the Church of EryJtand. The PCC operates
under the Church Represenlatson Rules 2020 (Church House Publishing 20201.
The PCC has been a registe￿1 Chatty &nce 2009.
The Council is responsible among other things for the maintenance ofst Petefs Church B￿ldIngS and
grounds and for the proper stewardship of the Church's finanaal resources. The Church is Grade11 listed. In
planning activiti'es, the PCC has Con￿dered the Chanty Commission's Guidance on public benefit, in parbcular
the specific guidance for ch8rib.es on the advan￿ment of religion.

The full PCC have m8t only ￿lce in the year due to COVID 19 restrictlons. The stsnding ct)mmrttee mel 3
limes, the last by zoom during the second llxkdown. The Pastoral Care Team have contsnued through the
pandemic, though largely by phone and Fa￿ Time rather than acknal C￿taCt. hjl other parish ath'wb'es have
only been ab￿ to continue Sp)rad￿￿1Y.

rniance. The nomlal Sunday attendan￿ before the Pandemic averaged befvveen
11Y) and 120 for services. In 2021 the numbers started to approach that again but fell over the Christmas
period due to fear of the OMICRON Covid 19 varianL Communal Worship has continued thr￿ghOut the year.
Due lo the Pandemic and consequent severe drop in income, all aVoKla￿e works and expenditure were halted.
In particular, the first tranche of works following Ihe 2018 Quinqennial Inspection and the projecied
enlargement and upgrade lo the Carpark were F¥)slponed.11 is hoped the latter will be self-finanang in time.
Followin9 the lffit'ng of ￿Str￿￿.0nS due to the Pandemic, 9 Baptrsms & 3 Weddings took p18ce. 36 Funerals or
memorial services were held in St. Peters Church, at the St Petels Burial Ground or at a crematorium. The
Number on the Eledoral Roll was149, roughly as for the previous year.

rA)ntrol on how we resp)nd, and I have to commend eVeryt￿Y in our churc* fcf wothlng b'rdessty to keep our
church open for worship when all around us were closirKJ their doors. The pandemic has stymied the
undoubted prc#Jress made on all levels up until 2019 bul now with the pandemic rw seemingly mostly In the
rear-Mew mirrLY we (2n k very rAeased as we look ar¢)und that we have c£￿e thrwh it all bloodied bul
unbowed. Our musiol traditKJn has always twt strong tmjt the thoir under the dir￿AlOn of Stq)hen Tanner is
produung marvellous work. Choral evensong is up and running again and increasingly popular, SuThJay aTr
Wednesday worship are well attended Iwth many new faces and we f￿1 we have the stability now to try and
relntrcdU￿ the Friday11.30 seNc£. Existing and new retired priests cx)ming to PFovide their ministy
IS Opening new avenues in relation lo young people and terhaps home groups. Events have taken pla￿ in
church such as the.seat al the table. event in Febnjary. The Peter Hall is gettsng back to full operating
Capacity. The Music and Literary festivals are booked in their respecb've programmes, and a new year quiz
was well attended and a great SOCIa￿e event. Lcéves aThl fithes. and the scAo's lunch are back up and running
providing a great social setViC8 and our administrator Frances￿ Mills o)nb'nues to provide excellent
administrative support as do all the seNers, sides pwle, readers and interce&sors in a great collective effort.
Times have been tough in my view we are wdl posil'oned lo face the future with confiden￿.

Safeguarding Report 202￿2021
There have been no specific incidents to report this year. Safeguarding tonb'nues to te a standing item in the
PCC meetings and ¢)n the joint agenda of the Raleigh Misston Communty. The representalives from the 3
parishes meet with the dergy fvil￿ yewty to raise any issues. acknowl￿1ge gcK)d practice and to identify areas
where input is needed. We continue lo receive regular update5 from the diocese safeguarding team.
The domestic abuse policy was adopted by RMC in Septsmber.Tina ElletL Fran Mills & Paul Kurowskn hold the
safeguar(iing roles wvering the 3 Churches in the RMC.
Both Tina and Fran have c>)mpleled their appropriate C2 training. fina was nominated as RMC representative
for Safer Recruiknenl and continues to be ewdence checker for DBS. Jtinl FoundalK)n & Levd 1
safeguardirng training for all members of the 3 PCCS is pEanned for eaty 2022.
The majority of the Pastoral Care Team completed face to face training ICO &amp' C1) a• through the
diocese l Jan, 201. The focus now is to meet our parish's training needs Fran Mills. our derK to continue lo
cc41ate a central record of training f￿ the RMC.
Tho Church & Poter Hall
Our thurch is open to our communty for wivate prayer everyday belween 9.tA) & 5.tNJish.
80th the Chuich and the Peter hall are wdeEy used by the worshipping and cultural community VKV) the thurch
hosb'ng Music & Lilerary events which provide inc¢Jne for UF&eep and ￿'ng strangers into our beautifvl
building.
The Peter Hall provides acc￿lmod8￿.￿ for many churth meekn'ThJs and receptions as well as for local dubs
and sttities. Charges for external us8 provid8 a useful income towards the upkeep and utiliti8s for th8 hall.
The kitchen in the Church Hall is well aproinled and tr￿S faality enbles the proviS￿n of knvo o)mmunity
lunthes per month which are wdl atterxled and provide both spiritual and physKal sustrnen￿ and fellowship
for those attendlng.
Pastoral Care Some members of our parish are unable to attend thurch due to sickness or age. Reverend
Martin Jacoues has visited all church members who have requesled IL to ￿lebrate communion wlh them
either at their homes or in hospital. Jenny Stsele has o)ntinued to organise a rots of volunteers to visit all who
ar8 sick or unable to get out for any other reason to keep them in touch ¥￿th church life.
Misslon St Peters has continued to supp(xt Heather and David Sharland frcHn CMS throwh annually
dedicated collections and sennons. OpForbJniles to supwrt others through the Local Foodbank are
encouraged as well donalions to gcol rauses stewardship. Our p￿sh magazin8 {Mini rnag) is distrit￿ted
m¢)nlhly. The magazine keeps our panshioners inf0m￿j ofthe impjrtanl matters affecting our Church and
ath'des of general interest are also induded.
Ecumenical Relatlonshlps The churth is a member ￿ thurths Together in BudleNJh. Followng the
pandemic joint events hav8 b68n Ir￿ular but it is that as r8StrIcti￿s are lifted this will thange.

Totsl income in 2021 was £157,960. The planned grrfing thFough enveh)pes arKI standing orders increased
cfily marginally as a result of lower envelcpe receipts duriThJ ts pandemic. Totsl inc¢Nne inlxeased by 4.4¥.
mainly as a resutt of £15,379 of legacy receipts. Prcfety let11￿ receipts recovered Ixtt fundraising remained
much lower than it was during the pr&2020 pefvjd.
£174,883 was SFenl io provhle the Christian ministy fr￿n SL Pelerfs Church, induding the contribution lo the
diocesan parish share1£92,8601 wh￿h decTeased by1.3% in the year ar￿ enables mission and ministy to b8
prowded across our diocese. The sum that the thurches in the d￿)￿se are asked to find is calculated
accordirNJ lo a f￿m￿la that is ba￿1 mainly on number of people in lh8 worshippir¥J community. Planned

major works were again defeTred until fvlure years ar¥J Th) significant works were Carri￿ out to the thurch or
the hall. Some savings were again able to be made in administration and property running wsts.
The deficit of eXpe￿ilU￿ over irthme before taking acc¢wnt of invesknenl rerforn￿n￿ was £16,923. There
was an increase in market value of investments of £30.273.
The n8t result lor the year was a suwus ol income over expenditure of £13,350. Adding T8seNes brought
forward at the beginning of the year, the balances carried forward at 31 De￿rnber totalled £336,398. £115,144
of this is carried fonvard in designated fijmls for fabric repairs, youth acts'wlEs, music arKI church fiowers.
£50,000 of expenditure is still anticipa1￿ in the cLNning years to cover the (x)st of W¢xks on th8 church building
identified in the last Quinryjennial ReF¥)fL This is fwasl to cause a signifi13nt drain on reserves. aggravated
by our conb'nuirKJ excess of routine expenditijre over income which needs to be addressed. The level of
regular, repeating income must be reviewed must be in￿eased if the mlnisty from St Peterfs [510 continue
as it is at pres8nt. We cannot continue to rety on legaaes and inveslment markets. Fundraising and the
stewardship campaign ne&J lo be r&launch8d on a new basis in 2022 and carri&l C￿ until the finances are on
