**Commentary on the model Trustees’ Annual Report and accounts: One Community Organisation**

One Community Organisation is a Registered Charity which provides education programs and services for those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) & the Deaf Communities. Our services include counseling / religious studies / community faith programs / Yearly Deaf multi faith events & conferences and SEN children's programs. As well as supporting schools and educational establishments and being a point of reference for the Deaf Community.

## WORK CARRIED-OUT IN 2023 summary

In the year 2023 we have slowed down our activities and services due to our charity previously being under investigation and had a red notification flag. Even though this situation had been resolved and we have been cleared of any misdoings, we collectively though it best to wait until the red notification flag has been removed which has now been done. Now we will cautiously move forward with our programs.

## Events / Programs

- Weekly Online BSL (British Sign Language) programs

- Supported Deaf & SEN through our Humanitarian Aid Program

## Finances /Donation

One Community Organisation had an income of £31191 in the year 2023 and is eligible for independent examination. This money was raised by on-line donations via the websites, Fundraising events, Direct Debits. The Financial Policy is also attached which explains the financial term & conditions

One Community Organisation is below the larger charity threshold it may also prepare a simple annual report (refer to CC15d Charity Reporting and Accounting: The essentials and the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008). The Financial Policy is also Attached

## Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year.**

## Achievements

As well as broadening our website by adding more pages for on-line services and building a new website for the Deaf Community we have segregated our services so we can allocate volunteers and focus more on particular demands. Also by opening accounts on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc we are reaching a more younger audience and facing new challenges. We have increased the advertising on social media and are now connected to more community centers, religious organisations and Mosques which use our services to reach out to the Deaf Community and those with SEN in their own communities which has in turn brought more people to us, so meetings are in place to look into a more established Community Centre or base for OCO to work from.

## _Charity Events_

Our Yearly Conferences around the UK has drawn in many people from the Deaf & SEN Community who are usually shunned from such events either because there is no sign language interpreter or traveling issues. Every year OCO needs to work on improving and establishing this yearly event to make it live and global.

## Donations and Support

Increasing the number of platforms increases the opportunity to advertise and collect donations, so more information leaflets are being produced, better website maintenance with donation options, and volunteering opportunities for students studying sign language and speech therapy, also building stronger connections with schools and teachers. We have opened sub-bank accounts for different programs to help channel the donations giving people clearer options for their donations.
