September 2024 – August 2025
I am pleased to present the Chair’s Report for FOES covering the period September 2024 to August 2025.
This previous academic year has been both productive and successful for FOES. Through careful planning, strong collaboration with the school, and the continued support from our parents and carers we have achieved numerous fundraising events on behalf of FOES. These activities and events have enabled us to raise significant funds to enhance the educational experience and opportunities available to all pupils.
Financial Contributions to the School
A key highlight of this year has been our ability to make substantial financial contributions to the school.
In October 2024, FOES proudly donated £10,000 towards the installation of the school’s Daily Mile track, supporting pupils’ physical health and wellbeing.
In addition, FOES contributed £907 towards the development of the Forest School area, helping to enhance outdoor learning opportunities and enrich the wider curriculum experience.
These contributions represent the direct impact of our fundraising efforts and reflect the strength of our school community’s support.

Each of these events required considerable organisation and volunteer commitment. I would like to acknowledge the time, effort, and dedication shown by all members of the committee and my trustees
Principal Fundraising Events
Our most significant fundraising initiatives of this year, in order of funds raised, were:
-
Inflatable Day – This was by far our biggest and best Inflatable Day to date, the school spirit on this day was overwhelming and it was a privilege for me to organise. I would like to thank everyone involved including our local Fire Brigade and Coast Guards.
-
Sponsored Walk – This was a well-supported initiative with every child participating in this event. The sponsorship money received helped us reach our goal for the Daily Mile Track
-
Adventure Island Ticket Sales – Thank you to those that help sold tickets and made them available to collect to the wider community
-
Asda Cashpot – This was a welcome bonus towards our school funds and we were donated just over £3,000.
-
Swimarathon – This was a successful event and we had over 60 participates, making up 11 team. We won the Rotary Club Trophy for the most teams entered. It was a fantastic afternoon and lots of enthusiastic participants.
-
Elfridges – This was a valued seasonal event combining fundraising with a memorable experience for pupils.
These outcomes reflect the collective commitment of our school community and the strength of volunteer support.
Appreciation
FOES operates entirely through voluntary contribution. I would like to extend sincere thanks to our committee members and trustees for their ongoing commitment and professionalism throughout the year. I also wish to thank the parents, carers, and school staff who supported events, made donations, and volunteered their time.
I would like to say thank you to Shona who kindly stepped in to help up as treasurer over the past 3 months, this was valuable support and I am extremely grateful for her time. Rachael Harvey is stepping down from her position as secretary and again appreciate all her support in this role over the past 2 years.
We are particularly grateful to Mrs Maidment for maintaining a positive and collaborative working relationship with FOES, ensuring that funds raised are allocated effectively to benefit pupils.

Looking Forward
As we move into the 2025–2026 academic year, FOES remains committed to:
-
Delivering inclusive and well-organised events
-
Strengthening volunteer engagement
-
Continuing to provide meaningful financial support to the school
We have currently donated monies for Chrome Tablets and are continuing to fund raise to ensure all classrooms have these available to them for this year.
In conclusion, I am proud of what FOES has achieved over the past year and confident that we will continue to build upon this success in the year ahead.
