Dr. Benjamin Rosenblatt Head Trustee Camberley Judo Club Deer Rock Road Camberley, GU15 4EP carlycamberleyjudoclub@gmail.com 07934157641 29 October 2025 Dear Charities Commission,
Subject: Annual Trustee Report for 2024 – Camberley Judo Club (Reg. No. 1130119)
As the Head Trustee of Camberley Judo Club, I am pleased to present the annual report for the year ended 31 December 2024, following on from our 2023 update. This report outlines our financial position, governance, community engagement, and sporting achievements throughout 2024.
Financial Overview
The financial year 2024 saw significant growth and continued stability for the Club. Our total turnover increased markedly to £245,187.93 compared to the previous year. This growth was supported by higher training fee income, sponsorships, grants, and community programs.
Key income streams included:
-
Training fees (NEST and non-NEST) totaling £68,642.01
-
Grants of £36,573.00
-
Sponsorship income of £12,601.23
-
Schools programs revenue of £25,348.10
-
Elite full-time athlete funding of £45,291.77
Total costs of sales, including instructor fees, event expenses, and operational costs, amounted to £157,563.74. Administrative expenses, dominated by utility costs (£26,087.99) and repairs and maintenance (£29,735.72), totalled £64,012.70. After accounting for these expenses, the Club achieved an operating profit of £23,611.49.
It should be noted that the payment for the second phase of the solar panel installation was made in January 2025 and therefore not reflected as an expense in this financial year. This investment is expected to reduce our future energy costs, further strengthening our financial sustainability.
Governance and Trustee Activities
Throughout 2024, regular trustee meetings were held to review financial management, compliance, and strategic planning. The Board has ensured good governance practices, with continued focus on transparency and accountability. We have implemented measures to improve information flow among trustees, including the timely update of required verification processes for directors mandated by Companies House.
Community Engagement
Camberley Judo Club continues to prioritize community outreach and inclusivity. In 2024, we expanded our successful programs initiated in 2023, such as free judo workshops in local schools and partnership initiatives with charities. We maintained strong collaborations with Surrey Active, delivering free schools meals camps during school holidays and practical cooking classes, alongside physical education lessons supported by the Together Fund.
Furthermore, our weekly women’s fitness classes remain a popular and free resource promoting health and wellbeing within the community.
Sporting Performance
Our dedicated coaching and support have led to ongoing success across all age groups and abilities. Camberley Judo Club athletes achieved national championship titles and earned places on the national teams for England, Scotland, and Great Britain, Team GB.
We are proud of our continued support for elite athletes, including those working towards Olympic qualification. The Club secured its position as the first Commonwealth Judo Association training hub, welcoming athletes from Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, and beyond.
We had four athletes qualify for the Paris Olympic Games 2024.
The year saw increased participation in national and international competitions, further raising the Club’s profile and inspiring our members.
Looking forward to Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026, where we can have athletes from all the home nations. Plus athletes from New Zealand, Australia and Jamaica.
Outlook and Conclusion
The year 2024 has been one of growth, resilience, and strategic investment for Camberley Judo Club. The progress we have made financially and operationally sets a strong foundation for the future. We remain committed to our mission to promote judo, nurture talent at all levels, and engage positively with the community.
We thank our members, trustees, staff, and supporters for their ongoing dedication. We look forward to continuing our journey in 2025 and beyond, building on the successes of the past two years.
Yours sincerely,

Audit of Camberley Judo Club – Financial Year Ended 31 December 2024
Dear Dr. Rosenblatt,
Following our audit of Camberley Judo Club’s financial performance for the year ended 31 December 2024, we are pleased to present our report summarizing our key findings relating to the Club’s financial health, compliance with applicable standards, and internal controls.
Audit Opinion
In our opinion, the Profit and Loss statement of Camberley Judo Club for the year ended 31 December 2024 presents fairly, in all material respects, the financial performance of the Club in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework.
Key Findings of the audit include:
Financial Health:
Camberley Judo Club has maintained a relatively strong financial position throughout the reporting period. The Club recorded total turnover of £245,187.93 against combined cost of sales and administrative expenses totalling £221,576.44, resulting in an operating profit of £23,611.49 as per the year-end accounts. However, it is important to note that the second payment for the solar panel installation was made in January 2025 and is therefore not reflected as an expense within the current financial year. When this payment is accounted for, the actual profit for the period would be adjusted accordingly. Despite this, the Club’s financial performance still indicates generally sustainable operations and prudent financial management practices.
Compliance:
Our audit procedures have found that, to the best of our knowledge and based on the documentation reviewed, Camberley Judo Club has complied with relevant financial reporting requirements and regulatory standards applicable to its operations.
Internal Controls:
The Club maintains appropriate internal controls over financial reporting and operational processes. While the controls are generally effective, we encourage continuous monitoring to ensure ongoing mitigation of risks related to financial transactions and record-keeping.
Commendations
We would like to commend the Board of Trustees and the management team of Camberley Judo Club for their diligent oversight and commitment to maintaining strong governance and financial discipline. Their proactive approach has
contributed significantly to the Club’s positive financial performance and compliance adherence in the year under review.
Conclusion
Based on our audit, nothing has come to our attention that causes us to believe the Profit and Loss statement does not fairly reflect the Club’s financial performance or that there are significant issues regarding compliance or internal controls.
We appreciate the cooperation extended to us by the Board of trustees, management, and staff during the audit process.
Should you require any further information or clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with Camberley Judo club. I look forward to our continued collaboration in the future.
Yours sincerely,
