ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The principal accounting pc4icies ththich a￿ afk*Pted consiytenUy in the p￿paration of the financial
statements are set out bekny.
Basis of accounting
The financial statements have been wepared in aCcOrdar￿ th the Church Accounting
Regulatitsns 2006 together with applicable acccHJnling standards and the current Statement of
Recommended Practice, Accwnting and Rewbng by chartb.es and applicable accounting standard
FRS102,
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention except for the
valuation of investrnenl assets. which are shown at market value. The financial ststemenls include all
transactions, assets and liabilities for which the PCC is responsible in law. They do not include the
accounts of church groups that owe their main affiliation to anothèr ix)dy, nor those that are infomal
gatherings of church members.
Incomi￿ rosources
Planned giving. collections and donations S￿ re¢tsJnised when recaved. Grants and legacies are
accounted for when the PCC is legally entrtkd to the amounts (1￿ and they can be quantified wl
reasonable certainty. All other income is reci￿n[sed when it is r￿[vable. All incoming resources a
accounted for gross.
Res¢)ur¢es expended
Grants and donations are accounted for when paid over. The dKJcew parish Sha￿ is accounted for
when due. Al other expenditure is generally recognised when It is InCu￿&d accountèd for gross,

Cash is held on deposit with HSBC and Unty Trust to be used in church business on a continuin9 basis.
Fund accounting
Endowment funds are funds. the catHlal of which must be maintained,. onty income arising from
investment of the endoy¥inenl may be used either as restrKled or unrestricted fvnds dependiF)g upon
the purptrse for wh¢ch the endowment was established.
ReSts￿led fund8 represent (a) incomefromtrusts or endowments vthich may be expended only L)n those
reslricled objects provided in the terms of the trust or bequest, and {bl (k>nations or grants received fo¥
a specific objèct or invited by the PCC for a specific objeci. The funds may only be expended on the
specffic obje¢l for which they were given_ Any balance remaining unssEnl at the end of the year must
be carried fcwward as a balance of thatlund. The PCC does not usually invest separatety for each fvnd.
Unrestricted funds are general fvnds vthich can be used for PCC ordinary purposes.
Reserves
Gnien the signthcant cash constraints posed by refijrbishing the Rectorfs Lothjing. the PCC r￿￿1Ved in
2024 lal that until 31 December 2Q25 the parish shoukl lo retain a minimum ¢ash balance of no
less than 3 JI￿nths. expenditure {currenlty £48,000) and {bl that no further iesetve needed lo be
retained for further capital expendrture during this time. After 1 January 2026. however, the PCC will
(al e￿eavoUr to build reseNes back to 6 months, expenditure as quickly as possible and Ib} work
towards building a rese￿¢ for ex¢eptional caprtal projects of at least £50.000 by 31 December 2028.

12024 and 20251 of £881,668. Some £59.743 of this had been spent in 2024 and a further
£821,925 was spent in 2025_ Final invoices: inc]uding retent•)n payments and assocÉated costs,

outlay on the proiect to £918.912.
External Fundin
A signrficanl grant of £600,000 was received from the Cty Churches Grants Committee
(£400,000 in 2025 and £2QO.ODO in 20241 lo assist this project. We record our sincere
gratitude to the CCGC for its assistance and support.
Further extemal funds totalling £38,360 were raised from individuals this year, on some of￿1Ch
we were able to claim Gift Aid of £2.090. We also received grdnts of £17.936 from Trinty Vvall
Street, £5,QOQ from the Worshipfvl Company of Grwers, £2,500 from The Rose Foundation,
and £2.200 from Fidelty Internalonal. Again wè record cKJr sinc&re gtstttude to these
supwters.
Other than the £200,000 from the CCGC referred to above. some £21.025 had been raised from
external fvnders in 2024.
Pro'e¢t Deficit- Parish Fundin
Having received a further £8,191 this year as a VAT rebate. that left a deficrt on the project Ilo
datel of £184,366, which was mèt by the Parish from its ovm cash reserves. That overall subsidy
from the Parish is expected to rise lo £221.610 once the remaining invoices have been received
and paid in 2027.

Activfties from Unrestricted to Restricted Funds. As noted above. it is currently all1￿1pated that
the amount lo bè transferred in this way in the 2026 accounts ￿1[ be some £221,610.
2025 Pro'ect Income and Ex ndiiure
Oflhe total external fUr￿Ing of £697.302 received towardsthe project in the L4sttwo years, som8
£476,278 was received in 2025. Of the total ¢osts incurred on Ihe project in the last two years
