Activities

The trust undertook three principal activities in support of its objectives during 2009/10. These being:1) Completion of four technical studies in respect of the feasibility of the prospective Ironbridge Railway;2) Presentation of the case for and feasibility of the Ironbridge Railway;3) Liaison with the National Railway industry.

Objects: 3.1 To Develop, Construct, Preserve, Operate And Display And Where Necessary Torestore, Use And Maintain The Standard Gauge Railway And Related Historicalartefacts Known As The Ironbridge Railway And Running Between Buildwas Andbridgnorth Via Ironbridge, In The County Of Shropshire, Connecting To Theexisting Severn Valley Railway Between Bridgnorth And Kidderminster In Thecounty Of Worcester Or Similar Routes As From Time To Time The Trustees Deemto Be Beneficial To The Objects Of The Charity (hereinafter Collectively Referredto As The Railway) And To Use And Operate The Same For The Education Of Thepublic.3.2 To Use The Railway To Promote Public Knowledge, Appreciation Andunderstanding Of The Historic, Educational, Scientific And Cultural Aspects Of Therailway With Particular Regard To The Age Of The Railway And Its Historicalsignificance And Its Relationship To The Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site
