MISSIO DEI
TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT
The Board of Trustees present their report and accounts for the accounting year ended 30 September 2025.
Objectives and Activities
The objectives of the Charity are:
-
To bring mission to the forefront of the church’s agenda;
-
To advance the Christian Religion in the UK or the world as deemed appropriate by the trustees;
-
To relieve people who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress in the UK or the world;
-
And to train and develop people to have a positive influence in their community within the UK or the world as deemed appropriate by the trustees.
Achievements
This has been a successful year for the charity as we saw people become more confident and willing to serve through the mission trips and activities we organised. We increased the number of people volunteering for a homeless outreach project in Nigeria and, as part of the mission work in Nigeria, we supported a project that rescues children who have suffered abuse or have been rescued from being kidnapped. The team in Nigeria visited a safe home where children who have been rescued after being kidnapped are housed and cared for. We are seeking to build a stronger relationship with the organisation that runs the project going forward.
The team in Nigeria also provided funds to pay for inmates with minor cases to be released on bail, who could not afford it.
Additionally, the Charity achieved the following during the year:
-
Organised a Salvation Prayer meeting encouraging people to pray for their friends and family and local community.
-
Organised a discipleship evangelism training day where people are taught how to engage in conversation with others and put it into practice through practical engagement in conversation with people in the community.
-
We took a team on a short-term mission tip to the Amazon, Brazil where the team visited a prison, drug and homeless rehabilitation centre school. Provided food bags for over 20 families.
-
Supported a family in financial hardship through the provision of a food bag as well as making provision for one of the children to receive counselling
-
Other overseas mission trips took place in Europe and Africa, which involved training, reaching the marginalised while empowering delegates to serve their communities.
-
Carried out training with various churches in the UK on becoming more effective in connecting with their local community.
Structure, Governance and Management
Governing Documentation
The charity is controlled by its governing document – the Charitable Trust Deed. The Charity has exercised due regard to the Charities Commission guidance on public benefit in pursuing its charitable purposes to the satisfaction of its Trustees.

TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT
Organisational Structure
The Charity’s key financial and strategic decisions are discussed and agreed by the Board of Trustees. Responsibility for the management of the charity rests with the Board of Trustees.
Method of Recruitment and Appointment or Election of Trustees
Trustees are appointed according to their relevant skills, knowledge and experience and based on the current operational climate and needs.
Potential Trustees are selected through recommendations and appointments are decided by the Board of Trustees by a majority vote following an interview.
Induction and training of new trustees
The induction of new Trustees includes an explanation of the function of the Board of Trustees and an overview of the organisation and its activities. On-going appropriate training is recommended.
Financial Review
During the year the Charity received income of £28,705 (2024 - £14,051), of which £21,581 (2024 - £6,420) was restricted. Expenditure of £23,993 (2024 - £15,915) was incurred during the year, leaving a surplus of £4,712 (2024 - deficit of £1,863).
At the end of the year the Charity had reserves of £26,775 (2024 - £22,063), of which £4,052 (2024 - £nil) was restricted.
Reserves policy
The Trustees wish to find the right balance between funding its charitable activities and maintaining the appropriate level of resources necessary to ensure uninterrupted operations.
The Trustees are of the view that reserves should not be set too high, tying up funds which could be spent on charitable activities. The charity, therefore, aims to hold unrestricted reserves amounting to at least three months unrestricted expenditure (on an average) or £6,000 in total.
The Trustees in 2025 have been able to hold the minimum level of unrestricted reserves to minimise any disruption to beneficiaries should a source of income cease.

The financial statements have been prepared to give a ‘true and fair’ view and have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a ‘true and fair view’. This departure has involved following the relevant version of the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) rather than the Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice effective from 1 April 2005 which has since been withdrawn.

1 ACCOUNTING POLICIES (continued)
1.5 Resources expended
All expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all costs related to the category. Expenditure is recognised where there is a legal or constructive obligation to make payments to third parties, it is probable that the settlement will be required and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably.
Support costs are those that assist the work of the Charity but do not directly represent charitable activities. They are incurred directly in support of expenditure on the objects of the charity.

Basic financial assets
Basic financial assets, which include debtors and bank balances, are initially measured at transaction price including transaction costs and are subsequently carried at amortised cost using the effective interest method unless the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the transaction is measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial assets classified as receivable within one year are not amortised.
Basic financial liabilities
Creditors are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabilities if payment is due within one year or less. If not, they are presented as non-current liabilities. Creditors are recognised initially at transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method.
