Friends of Della and Don is a non-governmental, non-political, non- religious charity formally established in 2009. It is constituted under a trust deed dated 20 May 2009. It is registered as a charity with the Charity Commission. The Trust deed defines the charity's Objects as being: THE RELIEFAND ASSISTANCE OF THE PEOPLE OF RATHMALAMA, SRI LANKA AND THE SURROUNDING AREA WHO ARE VICTIMS OF THE 2004 BOXING DAY TSUNAMI, IN PARTICULAR BYTHE SUPPLY OF RESOURCES TO AID THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE COMMUNITY. |

Governance: Trustee meetings are held at least three times a year. Financial updates are provided at least twice a year. Decisions to grant financial assistance to our projects are subject to approval by the trustees. Monitoring ofthe projects is made through in-country visits and regular email, text and phone messages with contacts in country. |
