stanhill Foundation Report of the trustees for the year ended 30 November 2022 The trustees are pleased to present report of the charity together with the financial statements of the charity for the period l Dember 2021 to 30 November 2022 which are also prepared to meet the requirements for a directors, report and accounts for Companies Ad purposes. The financial statements comply wilh the Charities Act 2011, the Companies Act 2006, Ihe Mernorandum and Articles of Association, and Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice. Our purposes and activities Stanhill Foundation promotes charitable purposes for the benefil of: the community of Lancashire, racial hamiony, education, culture, financial hardship, advancement of faith, humanitarian causes, exclusively charitable causes in accordance with the laws of England and Wales as the trustees may from time to time decide. Stanhill foundation reiVed donations of £284,327 in the period which allowed it to make several granls in respect of the following fields. Human rights Academic Projects Scientific Projects Religious Causes Education Youth Projects Disability Projects Povertylhardship The charity truslees have Complied with their duty lo have due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission in exercising their poWS or duties. Financlal review & Reserves pollcy During the yearthere has been £287,719 (2021: £349.215) of income all of which was derived from donations and grants. £17.WO of this was restricted for specific purposes. Totsl expenditure for the year was £337,164 (2021: £296,775).
Governance costs amounted to £2,842 and distributions amounting to £334,322 were made. Accordingly, the Foundation recorded a deficit of £49.445 for the Pariod and the total funds carried foNard amounted to £4,909. The Trustees have deternined that unreslri¢ted general reserves of at least £3.000 will be aintained in order to ensure that average annual operating and govemance costs can be maintained at 811 times. Al the yèar ènd the charity h81d £7,751 which is held as general unrestricted funds and £2,833 in restricted funds. The Trustees are of the view that the Foundation is a going concem.

It is a registered charity with the Charity Commission with charity number 1129600. Appolntment of Trustees As set out in the Articles of Association trustees cab be appointed by ordinary resolution or by a decision of the Directors. There must be at all limes at least serving Trustees. None of the trustees receive remuneration or other benefits for their work with the Foundation. Trustse training New trustees are provided with a briefing of their legal obligations under charity and company law, the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit and the contents of the Foundation's Memorandum and Articles ofA5sociation. The Foundation will also facilitate access to exlemal professional 8dvisers should this be required.
Trustees, responsibllities in relatlon to the flnanclal statements The trustees (who are also directors of Stanhill Foundation for the purposes of company law) are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the financial stslements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdovn Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.) Company law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources. including the income and expenditure, of the charttsble company for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to.. select suitable aCunting policies and then apply thèm Gonsistently. comply with applicable accounting standards, including FRS 102, subjed to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements. state whether a Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) applies and has been followed. subject to any material departures whlch are explained in the financial statements., make judgemenls and estimates that are reasonable and prudent., and prepare the financial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that thè ¢harity will continue in business. The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charitable company and enabl8 them lo ensure that the financial ststements ¢ornply with the Companies Act 2006 and the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and the group and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
