enable sharing of resources and work more tlosety together In order to be better able to respond to

We have a ￿de dwerslty In the ethnlc orlglns of our congregatlon, whlch attracts many Peop￿ from
outslde of the parlsh. People v￿th roots in the Indlan Suwontlnent are the majority group wlthln the
Church, wilh the rest mainly of White BritishlEuropean and Afrlcan herftage. Other 8eo8raphlcal groups
and natlonalltles are also rewesente4 but In much smaller numbers.
The church also attracts people from outside the parish who are drawn in by our strong evan2ellcal
ethos. styles of worshlp and ethnic Induslorn which is unique In both the Town & Deanery in %thlch our
parish is sttuated.

As a resulL the par15h was provided ￿th a fijll-tlme Assoclate Mln55ter untll 9111124, employed ty the
Dlocese of Oxford but funded by SDF. The parlsh has dlredy ernployed both a full-tlme Operatlons
Manager Mr Umalr Aslf and a full-tlme Interctjltural Misskjn Enabler Mr5 Lara Deen. Both roles were
part.funded from the SDF grants whlth we receive. wlth the Parfsh covering the rest of the costs. Each
of these roles are Y￿1 to the operatlon and success of the Hub (project). Both are employed on tlme-
Ilmtted contratts that refiect the length of SDFfvndln8 for each role.

plus representatlves from St Pauls PCC the Deanery. the Area Blshop and the Dlocese. Meetlng5 of the
team a￿ held regularly and a quartety report is submltted to the SDF Board showln8 progress agalnst
the project plan and goals set out In the Projett Plan weed ty all parties as part of the bkl pr¢xess.

the role for the benefit of the Parish.
The posI￿on of Verger has rernained vacant for manyyears and thbs 5￿uatIOn Is unllkely to change. ￿ a
resuK the parfsh contlnues to rely upon valued and commltted volunteers to fuffll the Verger ￿lated
duties. alded attlme5 bythe salarled employees.
The PCC continued to attivety take forward a project invomng the reorderin& refurblshment and
extension of the facilities at St. Paul'5 Church. Our alm Is to prowde facllltie5 that better seNe the needs
of an actlve, gr￿￿& evangelical parlsh In the 21st Century.
Phase 1 of the project wa5 to ￿furbISh ènd r&order the church, whlch commenced In August 2018 and
reached 95% of completion In February 2020 - but 5hortty after thls the maln contractor went into
Admlntstratlon. We have been able to fully use of the bullding and Its facllitles slnce then as the
outstanding Issues relate malnty to external works and 8eneral finishlng off and snagglng but Includlng
a significant Internal glazlng repalr Issue.
We are confident that the prolect funds. vthlch Include those pledged by the Bowr Trust, wlll be
sufficient to complete Phase l of the project lincludlng snagglngl in due course- twJt this cannot proceed
untll we recdve the next substantial grant from the Bowyer TnJK whlch we are due to receive in 2025.
There were sufficient project fvnds in 2021 to refurblsh the Gllllat Hall tollets as part of the planned
Phase 2 of the Improvement work5. Phase 2 also alms to extend and refijrblsh the main kltchen in the
Glllfat Hall, although agaln thls Is dependent upon the anticlpated Bowyer Trust grant belng re￿1Ve￿,
For 2025 the PCC has a8reed a budget of £9.756 in respect of varfous works of planned repalr and
maintenance required lor church owned prnpertles. the Parish Church {exdudlng covered by the
buildln8 project) and the Gilliat Hall.
SL Pauvs parlsh has a tradltion of tlthlng a percentage of offertorle5 to mi551onary worl distribution of
knlchls recommended tythe Outreach and M155ion Partners Commlttee. The percentage trthe In 2024

Total receipts for ordlnary Unrestricted Funds were £2XI,538. for Restritted Funds £110,225 and for
Designated Fund5 £0. All are detalled In the financial ststements.
£240,909 from Unre#ricted ￿nds £1,662 from De&gnated Funds arKI £136,490 from Restricted Funds
spent to provide Christlan mlnlstry Ilnduding grants to mlsslonary and o¢her Chrlstian organisatlons)
from SL Paufs Church. This included the contributlon to the DI0￿San parish share1£79.6331, which
largely pro￿deS the stipends, pensions and housing for clergy.
The net result for the year vms an excess of Unrestrlcted expendlture over Unrexrtcted Income of
£10371 whlch wa5 covered from our reseNes.
Restricted funds expendlture eKeeded Income by £26.264.
Designated funds expendlture exceeded Income by £1,662.
Adding the balances brought forward at the be8lnning of the year. the total balance carrled forward at
3151 December 2024was £285,126. Thi5 was split £196.764 for Unrestrlcted Fund5 lof vthlch £130,05015
property assets), £7,119 for Desi8nated Funds and £42,946 for Restrlcted Fund

It is PCC pollcy to malntaln a balance of unrestrScted funds which fif posslbjel equates to approxlmatety
three monthg unrestrlrted payments. to cover emergency sltuatlons that may arise from tlme to time.
