Finance (CCLA) that there was a dormant account under the name of J NOAKES CHARITY and what did the parish wish to do with it. Because of the Data ProtecHon Act the treasurer was unable to obtain any informaHon regarding the charity as he, the treasurer, was not a signatory to the account but was advised that if a link could be established between the original charity and the current parish setup further details could be divulged. An applicaHon under the Freedom of InformaHon Act was made to the Charity Commissioners and they produced a copy of the original last will and testament to the said J NOAKES highlighHng the terms and condiHons of the will. Together with supplementary papers, PCC minutes etc the Central Board of Finance (CCLA) accepted that there was a connecHon between the charity and the parish and details of the account were then shared. The priest in charge and the treasurer became, for the Hme being, the new trustees and the value of the holding was confirmed at £5,815. It was also confirmed that as an endowment account, interest had been paid 4 Hmes per year since approximately 2000 and it was only at this point that the details of the recipient account were divulged which was held at the NatWest Bank. Similar paperwork to that produced to Central Board of Finance (CCLA) has been presented to NatWest Bank and they have accepted the link between the charity and the parish. The next step is to have a formal resoluHon at Standing Commiiee approving the priest in charge and the treasurer being appointed as signatories on this account.

The priest in charge and wardens of the parish are trustees of 3 chariHes as listed below but the P.C.C. is not connected in any way with the administraHon of these chariHes.

The St Leonard's Parish Room & Sunday School Charity was established in July 1926 and the Mary Olivia Saffery Turner Charity in September 1984 and the two are now administered as one enHty.

There are also 2 friends’ groups, Friends of St Leonard's and Friends of Gt Mongeham St MarHn's Church which again are not directly answerable to or connected to the PCC.
