financial position at the end

Of this, £5,178 were designated funds.
We had budgeted for our total funds to be
c£35,500 at the end of this period and so our
undesignated funds were approximately
c£26,500 greater than expected. This was
primarily due to a combination of greater
than expected donations to the charity.
Our reserves policy at that time stated that
we aim for our reserves to be between
£49,000 and £56,200. Our reserves at the
end of the period were £56,829 and
therefore c£600 over our target.
The financial position at the end of the year
therefore appeared healthy.
We accounted for this when we agreed the
budget for 2020-21 in which we expected
expenditure to exceed income due to costs
associated with purchasing our building and
spending designated funds as planned.
We have some staffing changes in the next
financial year along with some possible
projects such as renovations. Therefore we
do not expect our reserves to remain outside
of the target range for long, although this
may not be rectified within the next financial
