equipment.
Funds are held in the charity's Co-op bank
account and are available for immediate
use.
The charity has no other monetary assets.
The charity has no inveslrnenl assets.
The Charity has physical assets retained for
the Gharity's own use. Including-
Boards, sets, clocks, stationery, signage,
lap top, printer.
The charilv has no liabilities.
The following are the main reasons that the
charity holds reserves.
1 } We need to maintain our equipment, and
this involves buying additional kit and
mending kit
21 Each year we have to pay certain
expenses (such as venue hire)
before receiving all entry fees and
we need funds in the charity's
account to be able lo pay for these.
3) There is some uncertainty about the
cost of venue hire each year and we
need to have enough in the charily's
account to b8 able lo cope wilh a

Para 1.46

21 Brand erosion. The charity r8quires
the finals to be run smoothly so that
competitors and parentslguardians
enjoy them. This includes the
management of complaints and
having clear procedures and
policies for this. There is also a risk
asso¢iat8d with the qualifier evenls
which we as a charity do not
manage directly but they aro
associated with the brand and so
we must endeavour to ensure that
qualifier organisers receive suitsble
support where necessary so that
children and their parentslguardians
are satisfied with these events also.
3) Safeguarding. The finals host
around 400-450 children and théir
parenlslguardians at each of the
pre- and post-christmas events and
it is vitsl thal we hav8 adequate
safeguarding procedures in pla￿.
The charity has a large quantity of chess
