‘Toys on the Table’ is a local charity, it is also a Limited Company; working in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland areas. It provides new toys at Christmas to disadvantaged children who otherwise would not receive anything. The majority of income is derived in the form of kind, toys donated by organisations, groups or individuals. They are then distributed to needy children in our area. Cash income when received is spent on toys and games and gifts; the running costs for maintaining the charity also come from those donations. All the people assisting in the Toys on the Table charity are volunteers.
The annual accounts for the year ended 28[th] February 2021 were unusual as we arranged a ‘Just Giving’ page on the internet, and were very pleasantly surprised with donations of £30,830.51; a comparison with previous years - 2020 - £6,227.78. 2019 - £ 9,745.40. 2017 - £8,204.80. 2016 - £3,749.50. This was caused by the Covid outbreak that caused the closure of many of our regular collection points for new donated toys!
It also limited the number of volunteers helping us to wrap and assist in the distribution of the toys.
