We believe that every child in unique and our aim is to provide a fun, stimulating learning experience which is catered to each child’s individual need. Children learn through play and through experiences which are meaningful to them. If they’re happy and secure, then they will learn and progress. We aim to plan and provide activities and play opportunities to develop our children’s emotional, physical, social and intellectual capabilities to their full potential. We believe attending preschool for almost full weeks prepares our children for joining mainstream school come September. The reduced child numbers is due to an entire year group (2025 reception intake) being absent from the local community, this absence impacting preschool greatly as it influences two and a half years income, where expenditure cannot be relatively decreased has the likes of staffing still has to be maintained. The 2026 reception intakes has come forward steadily with numbers increasing again in the spring term, this looks to a more favourable financial future, with the fundraising committee prepared and working towards helping with the current shortfall. We continue to provide affordable childcare in a fun, stimulating environment which caters to each child’s learning need. We work closely with our parents, current situations restrict inviting them in to our setting regularly to see how their children are progressing, however we endeavour to have regular contact with our parents through their child’s key person. We have a good working relationship with Cambo school and carry out regular transition projects with them. This ensures the seamless transition for our children in to reception. We continue to strive to ensure all our children feel valued and by the end of their time with us, they are capable, resilient and self- assured individuals ready and excited for the challenges reception will bring. ## **Financial Review** The expenditure for 2023-24 year was £58,957.28 and Income £51,096.11 leaving a loss of £7,861.17 The largest expense is wages at £46,514.24 with the balance mostly made up of room rent and operational costs consisting of insurance, phone contract and bank charges.
