Objectives and Activities The Charities Objectives
At Cambo pre-school we aim to provide affordable childcare, free from prejudice and discrimination, in a safe, secure, creative and happy environment, encouraging our children to reach their full potential in all areas of their development.
We believe that every child in unique and our aim is to provide a fun, stimulating learning experience which is catered to each child’s individual need.
Children learn through play and through experiences which are meaningful to them. If they’re happy and secure, then they will learn and progress. We aim to plan and provide activities and play opportunities to develop our children’s emotional, physical, social and intellectual capabilities to their full potential. At the end of their time with us they will be capable, resilient and self-assured individuals ready to move on in to reception.
The Charities main activities
Cambo wraparound provides high quality child care in a safe and stimulating environment in the form of breakfast club (2 ½ - 9 Year olds), Full Day Preschool (2 ½ - 5 Year olds), Afterschool Club (2 ½ - 9 Year olds), and also summer club (3-9 Year olds).

Achievements and performance
The 2020/2021 preschool year started during Covid 19 lockdown with vulnerable children and key worker children being prioritised to attend preschool. There was limited space for other children to attend preschool within our two bubbles, this situation was made all the more difficult with staffing limitations due to staff vulnerability. Our return to “normality” in September 2020 saw a good increase of pupil numbers back to pre covid figures. A High proportion of our children were using the government’s initiative of 30 hours free childcare, we have continued to offer 5 full days of childcare, and will do into the future.
We continue to provide affordable childcare in a fun, stimulating environment which caters to each child’s leaning need. We work closely with our parents, current situations restrict inviting them in to our setting regularly to see how their children are progressing, however we endeavour to have regular contact with our parents through their childs key person.
We have a good working relationship with Cambo school and carry out regular transition projects with them. This ensures the seamless transition for our children in to reception.
We continue to strive to ensure all our children feel valued and by the end of their time with us they are capable, resilient and self assured individuals ready and excited for the challenges reception will bring.
Financial Review
The expenditure for 2020-21 year was £57,512.17 and Income £43,706.72 leaving a loss of £13,805.45. The largest expense is wages at £40,229.50 with the balance mostly made up of room rent and operational costs consisting of insurance, phone contract and bank charges. £10,000 of the loss was the spending of a grant from Ray Windfarm received the previous year to complete a feasibility study. Expenses are logged and checked by the Manager and a trustee and mostly include breakfast/snack supplies and planned educational activity supplies.

Statement of trustee’s responsibilities
Trustees are required to select suitable and consistent accounting policies and to state whether applicable UK accounting standards have been followed, any financial expenditures must have been disclosed and explained in the financial statements, they must observe the methods and principles in the charities SORP and also make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and for taking responsible steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Re5ponsiblltties and basis for the report The charities trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 {"the ACY'I. I report in respert of my examination of Cambo Wraparound accounts as carried out under sertion 145 of the 2011 Att. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable directions given by the charity commission under section 145151{b) of the Act.
