Trustee Annual Report (6th April 24/5th April 25

Charity registration number 1128856

Trustees: Chair Pastor Roy Chisholm Mrs Carmen Chisholm Mrs Ann Gosling Ms Elaine Brown Mrs Chantal Lolos Ethney Anderson

Trustees meet and respond to needs as they are received, based on our anticipated small donations.

Recruitment: People volunteer to assist and donate as we share stories about the need to help people in poverty.

Debts: We have no debts. We are a small outfit, and function within the limits of our small resources. Much sacrifice is made by all involved.

Helping Hands Mission Against Poverty is operated by a handful of individuals with a burden for people in extreme poverty.

Jamaica: We collect and ship thousands of good quality clothes, shoes, food, medical supplies and crutches donated by UK hospitals. We ship these goods, travel and collect them and distribute to people in the poor communities.

This year we have provided building materials to poor families in need of accommodation; shipped 100 bags of rice and financially assisted families with school fees and uniforms.

Kenya : Seeking to concentrate on gross poverty in remote areas of the country, villages approximately four hundred miles from Nairobi, HHMAP assist students with tuition fees and educational materials. During the year under review, HHMAP provided funds to drill for clean water to a community and repair village homes. Being so small and so distant, our contribution is extremely limited given the enormity of the needs but greatly appreciated.

HELPING HANDS MISSION AGAINST POVERTY Reports and Financial Statements

Trustees report

The trustees present its annual report and the unaudited financial statements for the year ended 5TH APRIL 2025.

We are incredibly proud of the work that we have been able to accomplish in the reporting year in responding to the needs of individuals in alleviation of poverty, advancing education and relieving sickness of children and young adults in Africa and other third world countries in line with our values.

In the reporting year we have received donations of quality clothes, shoes , food and medical supplies and are grateful to our donors who have responded generously. We are incredibly proud of our volunteers who have worked tirelessly in collecting the various donations and sending them where they are needed.

In addition to this we received voluntary monetary donations which we have been able to distribute to those in need and supporting poor students with their tuition fees. We managed to also pay for the repair of 21 homes in villages in rural Kenya and provided medical expenses to families in those areas as well as donating food to orphanges there.

The charity continues to respond to needs as they arise. We are pleased to report that aid was shipped to Jamaica which included food, clothes, shoes, medical supplies including hospital equipment donated by Nuffield Foundation Hospital for which we are grateful. Poor families were in receipt of these items. The unemployed due to COVID were also assisted financially to survive and the sick were provided medical assistance.

In addition to this we are working on developing a website to publish the incredible reports of the impact the Charity is having in the areas it is working.

The Trustees have been encouraged by the generous support from members of the public who recognise the vision of Helping Hands Mission Against Poverty and the importance of supporting young people go through education as a way of eliminating poverty in their communities.

The chairperson would like to thank the trustees and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to ensure the charity continues to deliver on it's strategic goals.

Independent Examiner's report to the Trustees for the year ended 5TH APRIL 2025

I report on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended, which are set out on pages 4 to 7 of this report.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner :

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts.

The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the 1993 Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

Examine the accounts under section 43 of the 1993 Act; to follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given by the Charity Commission under section 43(7)b of the 1993 Act; and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner’s report :

My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair view’ and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

Independent examiner’s statement :

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the 1993 Act; and to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 1993 Act have not been met; or

2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
