- Arnold Methodist Trustees Report 2022 2023
Rev. Yanyan Case took over the responsibility of the church from Rev. Richard Byass. People continued to return to Sunday worship and for those not able to attend the services continued to be zoomed.
Boys Brigade, Girls Brigade, Lighthouse Playchurch and the Mental Health and Befriending Group continued meet with their numbers continuing to grow. All the leaders and helpers worked very hard. Regular Community events were held organised by the Lay workers.
Tuesday Coffee welcomes their regulars and visitors and has steadily built up its clientele and also gained new helpers.
Pastorally people were kept in contact with each other as previously with a new system implemented involving a number of members with a pastoral heart caring for members.
A new initiative ‘Quiet Space’ was introduced operating at the same time as Tuesday coffee to enable anybody to come, sit quietly to pray or be prayed with.
New members have been received into membership over the year. The Open the Book team continued to work together going into local Primary schools sharing Bible stories.
Both an outdoor Remembrance service and a Good Friday service were held. On Easter morning early service was held outside followed by breakfast at a local venue.
The Craft Fair was held on the evening of the Arnold Christmas lights switch on, and the following day.
Sadly, during the year, we lost several people and we give thanks for their contribution to AMC over the years.
From a financial perspective there was a surplus achieved for the first time in several years.
Sadly Rev. Case announced she would be leaving us at the end of the connexional year. It was announced that Rev. Peter Powers would be joining us part time and that we would enter the stationing process for the year 2023-24
The circuit continues to provide a written service which was circulated to those not on email and hand delivered by people in the fellowship. We are sure this was appreciated by all.
We also acquired new neighbours during the year when the building The AMP was opened.
We give thanks for all those who have contributed to working of Arnold Methodist Church in the year.
Rev P Powers
on behalf of AMC Trustees
