The 2020 Festwal wa8 canc8118d owng to restriCt￿n$. Constantly tharvJing ruth and

the FegtiV81 wwe notifled in time, with one exception, 2020 lestNe brochure, wh

lo ¢ontrol expenth'lure and so finan￿al 1058ts8 were kept to £2.289 ￿presenting brthire
wirting and design c*)sts. As sale5 had gontr ￿tkne for a br￿f a fw b)okJ'ngs had
teen made, amounting to £620. All li¢ket mnles wwe ?￿￿oMatICallY refunded.
Many frEnds had 8lrgady pa￿ their subs¢riptH)ns and made their donatons, amounting to a
ltsta of £17.302 by time the derision was taken to can￿1 the Fes1ivJ. Ev&ryone was
infofrned in wnting and Ihe great malty wanted us to retain their money to carry over to the
following y88r12021). atthwJh Iwo big dorKKs did 88k fcK Ihgir contribuiions to t¢ refvn*d
I pledged to donate for 2021. Tlis arnounted to £2,￿0 in total.
This gengrosity. together with thè h&atthy balance we had accnjed from the yevkjus Fesliva
in 2019. meant that our financial position at end of 2020 wa5 secure and left us in an
1vantageous POSition to put on more concwts as wèll as the normal FestNal in August 2021.
In a detsmiwied effort lo keep the Festival a the forefrwl of supporters, mirKls we Vanned a
series of extra ad hoc 0?￿rtS vthth were greaty 4)pr&i8ted by audiencE and musicians
alike. All I￿e1V9￿ good fees m8de up Irryn the l¢kel rtswenue and donal1c￿s.
Two concals in Auwst 2￿20 at St Margwel's, Bumham Norton, gwen in Ilp air thi the
thurchyard prowded some rnuch-needed INe MLL8￿. Four meffje Sell oul ¢onc£rts were gNen
inside St Marfs, S¢xrth Creake in Se0em￿r with slrklty limited soooEly di$tan¢xd audIer￿￿3.

Finally, the year ended with fv40 ConC￿lS gwen li the Malting8. Wells-nexl-the Sea, again wth
al revenue p8ssèd on to the mu5nan5. The Festival was abk to pay for the M￿￿eSt
hire tharg8s from exists'ng funds.
fUrt￿r ¢oncerts were planned for N￿ember one of wh¢ch was poslpjned until January
2￿21 but in the event. 811 th￿e had to be can￿lled.
The FestNal was able to assist the very promising young Echea Striro Quart& to make 8
oiongèd stay in Norfolk. a per￿ of prepar*"on ar￿ study under ihe supefvi%ion of Simon
Rty4laAI-Jones, culrninaling in a fulklength re¢x)rded cotKert that was urrJJlated ￿)line to our
Friends and followers and as a result pi¢xluced an income of £1,8￿. We were able to use
Ihe5e fvnds to COV8r the cost of the quarlèt's arrA)NYncNJalion al Ihe YoFke TTu*. as wdl as
ay them a small lee. We are grateful lo The Yothe Twsl for thei¥ part in makirvJ Ih's possible
providitvJ the accommtrJab)n at a nvJth.redu￿
So, despite the disappokrtment of a canr*ll8d Fest￿81 in 2020, we arè Icthing forwwd wmh
ewtsj optlmiqm to 2￿27 and have planned a programme o¢xordiroly. Our idea is to have
concorts every day at 3w and 6pm lo last maxirnum of g) minut¥$ wth no interv81. Tlis
will 8llow us lo be a fl￿ble and will mean that NNMF might have a drfferent ￿MoSphere next
t4me but the art￿1¢ levels as well aB the comlort ￿ $8foty d Ihfj audience and mu$idan$ WIN

## **1 General notes** 

Basis of accounting: 

The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. Accordingly no account is taken of amounts payable or receivable at the period end. 

## **2 Transactions with Trustees** 

The Charity does not have any employees. 

During the year ended 31 October 2020 the following transactions occurred: 

Mr S Rowland-Jones, Trustee, charged the Charity £nil in respect of  festival performances and masterclasses (2019: £4,500). 

Mr B Cheeseman, Trustee, charged the Charity £3,000 for the use of his own home as accommodation and concert preparation (2019: £nil). 

During the year £NIL was reimbursed to trustees in respect of trustees' expenses (2019: £NIL). 

## **3 Other disclosure issues** 

The Charity has not given any guarantees charged or received a loan secured on any of its assets, or has at the year end any contingent liabilities. The Charity does not receive grants as a material part of its income.

**INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES ON THE UNAUDITED ACCOUNTS OF NORTH NORFOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL** 

I report to the trustees on the examination of the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 October 2020 which are set out on pages 1 to 3. 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

As the trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent Examiners’ statement** 

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or 

2. the accounts do not accord with those records 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
