The Ministy Leaderthp Team consists of three cler8y. one of wbom is self.silp￿ thc Children
& Families Minister, who is 8]so a Re4dff. They are abty supported by sxx r¢tired clergy, and on¢ pwson
who has the Bishop's perniission to ￿ea¢kn. Chw Vicar is also Joint Area Dean for the Fosse Dellnery. and
#Il three cler8y ate bc￿ chap]2ins to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Two memben of our church
are governors f(rHoty Trinity Primw SCI￿OL alon8 wftth the Vicar.
During the fjrst lockdown in marc￿ we I￿re able to put our employed staff onto the Government
Furlough Scheme. The role of three members in the wish office w89 miewc4 and the reconfi8w¢d job
was offered as one parish •dmiillstrator on an a￿LL￿ fvll.time basis. As the summer progressel it
b￿e clear that due to the lack of visitors to see S]￿keSPeare,$ grnve. our ijrne was not sufficient to
meant that in ordw to OF¢n the Churc￿ now have & tram of volunteers OD duty. who mak¢ 5urc that

The PCC'S ￿ndS wmprise those of Hoty Trinity. All Saints. and St Helen's churches which 3r¢ managed
scparntety though the accounts are consolidaknj at the end of the year.
Holy TrlDIty fvnds
By far the largest resource movements relats to Holy Trinity. The church's unrethctyl funds are spli¢ by
designation, into the Patt￿h181 Fund (effectivety the PCC'S general fund which covers all current
activities of a strictly panKhiai nature including the cost of ministy. Music ¢lc): the Restorntion Fund
which covers the day to day rnaint¢nance of th¢ church buildin8 and its ministy to visitorslh¢ritag¢
function &s well &8 its actual restoration" the PaTish Hall Fund coveTill8 rentsl iocome and day to day costs
of the Parish Centre. the Legacie5 Fund which is self•explanatory and used for specific capitsl costs. the
Social Fund using the I￿0¢¢edS of events to fu￿¢¢ th¢ church's life and raise money for projects
and the Communty Fund enabling grants to be giv¢D to individuals in D¢ed from a tithe on the church
shop proceeth. There a￿ some smalL restricted which are detailed iti the annual a¢￿￿nty and
som¢ of which arc referrd lo below.
Major projects at Holy Trinity in 2020 includc the installation of AV cquipment in the Parish Centre
(£11.244) and in the church (£22.653) - both partly funded by a number of generous donations from
members of the con8re8ation. This allowed b)th the live streamin8 of Se￿ICe8 and for members of the
congregation attending services in church to share the same conlent as was being s¢¢n at hom< essential
as the church was closed or severety restricted in the numbers worshipping in person for the majority of
the year. Not only did it allow those unabk to attend kn maintsin contact with the church, but also
widened our reach to people who do not nornialty attend Holy Trinity. While the pews were more widely
spaced for soci81 distancing requirements, the floor sanded ￿MI sealed (£8.800) and electrical repai
completed (£5,IMI). A new carpet bas been itistslled in the ringing Ch￿nber funded by the bellringing
As regards day to day income and expendititre on the Restorntion Furf doDations from visitors to
Sh8kespe8re's ￿ve decreased by alK)ut £245,000 (85Yo) to some £42.000 for the year reflrfting the
Covid restrictions that were in placz from the end of March. Shop sal¢s reduced by £67,500 (870/) lo just
below £IO.000. The fimd showed an in-year reduction of £84.000 and ended the year at around £161.500.

stand at £57,0(Kl.
The Paff*hial Fund began the year with a sury)lus of around £28,0(K>. Income from regular giving has
remained constant at around £114,000 Iplus around £30,iKIO ￿laIM Under Gift Aid) yet the
prop)rtion ￿tti8 from standing orders increased 5P/o to 740/• as pwple have switched to belp
maintaln giving. Donations from the collectlon plate have declined by ne8rty 80Tr/0 to £3.6(KJ. Donations
for use of the chwch for concerts and similar events r&luced by S4Y/• to just over £l.000. The fund
continues to meet the majority of the salary of the Children and Families Minister. with th¢ ren)aAnder met
from other funds. Reflecting the severe reduction in illc4)me, the Parish olAailleA a Grant Share Reduction
from the Di(￿¢S¢ reducing our Parish Slwe by just over £24,(N)O to £113.424. Th¢refor4 while the
Parish continues to pay its full cost of clew, contnl)ution towards the Di￿¢sAn sup[￿ Fund w
signifi&qlltly reduced. Ivhile there was a very px)sitive resp)n5e to the Stewardship Appeal at the end of

2020. it is ckar that more work is wired to seare the loDg.terni fuhre of churth and ministy. The

The total salary bill, including National JnsuTance and peJ)sion contribution& was some £136.0(Ki, a
reduction of aiKYUt £39,CW on 2019. (This ¢x¢ludes the stipendg of the cler8y which are met through
P8Tish Shar¢.) The reduction ret]￿ts the restn￿8 of staff during the year driven primarity by Covid
restrictions on church oFnin8. In thition. we receiwj £37,836 from the Government's Coronavirus Job
Retention Sch¢m¢. Th¢ PCC contributes 5.5% of eligible staffs salaries (which is more genero￿$ than is
currently required by law) to a [￿nsion scherne adtDinistered by the Church of England Pensions Boanl
under the 8ov¢rnm¢nt's autoenrolment legislation. Staff salaries are benchmarked against good practi(x
in other PCCS in the Major Churth¢s Ndworl and all staff salaries are above th¢ Livin8 Wo8e (as
recommended by the Living Wa8c Foundatio￿ which is higher than that rquired by law. Annual
Regerves Policy
The PCC'S policy is to maintsin in thc unru¢ricted reserv<4 a minirnum of syx months, unavoidable
payroll commitments - currently around £50.(M)O - and nornlally to keep around £50.000 towards hture
restorntion expendith. It will be clear from the above that this policy was fulfilld throughout 2020.
However. it is likely that will dip below this level in 2021.

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) is a corwrate bc*ty established by the Cburch of England, It
operates under the PCC Pow¢r5 M¢￿ure 1956 and Cburch Representstion Rul¢s 2011. The PCC is
registered wlth the Clwity co1wn1￿1O4 Re8istr&tiottNumber 1128665.
The method of appointinent of PCC members is in line with the Chur¢h R¢prcs¢ntstion Rules. In
Stratford Parish. membership consists of th¢ Incumbent (our Vicar). churchw8rdens. our Associate Vicar,
Associate Pries( and manbers elected by those of the Congregation who are on the Electornl Roll of the
Parish. All those who attend our serv1￿MeMberS of the con8regation are encourz8¢d to register on the
Electora] Roll and stand for election to th PCC.
The PCC is responsible f(r makiDg d￿ls1OnS on mattas of 8enernl concern and ijnportsnce in the
parish including how the funds of the PCC are sp¢nL
A Standing Committee of the PCC (e#ablishcd under the said Churth Repr¢5¢ntstion Rulesx comprising
the Vtcar. Associate Vicar, 4 ChurchwardeD4 Hon Treasur￿ and Hon SeaEtary, together with the
Operations Manager. meets regularly, making urgent decisions or sendiJJg JrrA)tnmendations to PCC. This
