In exercising their powers and dutie& the Directors and Trustees have complied with their duty in

Research on Loughborough continues. and we arc plewd to advise thai we have now received

Lnughborough Since 1750.. A Social and Culiwal Hisiory is on course to be published in Sprin8 2026.
The Second paperback will COV￿ th¢ working life of L4)ughtx)rough and its peopl¢ sin¢e 1750,

earliest records to the present day. Some work towards this volume, for example on m¢di¢val
Loughborough, ha5 been completed through Sp￿lf1¢ grants. but much more work will be r¢quir¢d.
During the year we also began and wmpl¢ted a piece of research on the hislory of Nanpantsn. This
small village on the southern fringe of Lou8htM)rough 15 grndually be¢omin8 a suburb to th¢ town
through rIb￿n d¢v¢lopment along Forest Road and housing development on fomier Nanpantan

on th¢ Charnwood Forest Canal to wa8on$ on a railroad for the final stage of their jOUTney 10

had by then become a popular destination for days OUL and on a singl¢ sunny summer day could
receive many hundreds of visitors s¢¢kinB refreshment. Our project concluded with a public event 8t
