We are the largest voluntary sertor organi5atton supporting older people in Carlisle and Eden. We work to address the major
ob5tscles people face in enjoyin6 later life.. poverty, social isolation and ill health.
The lastyear we agaln fac& unprecedertted ¢hallenEe5 through the Cost-of-LNinE erisi5, ￿$vItIng in a surge in demand for our
$erni￿$ across all departments. Demand wa5 experRnced rnore Intensely for ￿ferra15 around combatting poverty, with over
2400 ￿tr￿lS into our Inforniation and Advice Service.
We delNered a comprehensive Tange of 5er¥lces to thousand5 of older people throuihout our district. A5 an organisation we

In order to ensure continuity of service to our clients, the management comrDittee hopes to have reserves equal to a yearfs
expenditure lon continulng actlvltiesl for each service, currently £863.996 This should gwe sufficient tlme to make alternatwe
arrangements for services In the event of dis¢Dntinuation of funding. Staff who hjve been employed contlnuously for rnore
than 2 years would require redundaACy payments from reserve5 rfthe charity had to cease.
On 31st March 2024 total reserves We￿ £1.530,730 of which £409,332 were restrirted. Unre5trKXed funds were £1,121,398 of
which £335.212 were deslgnated as invettment5 for a Bequest, which leaves ￿￿OIn1￿E reserves on 31 March 2024 of
£786,186. These reserves are currentw less than those required to be in Ilne with the charty's reserve policy. The trustees felt
that with the current unstable flnancial situatlon, such resefft5 should enable the charity to secuie 5eNices forthe future. The
trustee5 are mindful of the large deficits that have otcurred in pastyear5 and wlsh the charity to fvifil its mission ststementfor
many years to corne. 1ncluded in the restricted reserves is E239,292 which can onty be reali*d by IfispDsinE of tsnglble fixed
assots and investrneRt property.
