Guisborough Methodist Church

Trustee Report

Financial Year 24 25

Guisborough Methodist Church continues to thrive and moves from strength to strength under the new leadership of the Rev Meg Peters, who joined us from the USA this September 2025.

We have on average 60 people attending services on a Sunday morning with a membership of 94 and 73 adherents. There is a service held fortnightly at Hinton Ct which is a Methodist Homes establishment located in Guisborough. Every second and fourth Sunday at GMC is a café style service.

The church is open every day with the following activities: Good Neighbours, Women’s Fellowship, Girl Guides, Youth Club, Music group, and Saturday Coffee Morning.

A local charity the Bridge Association hire GMC premises for a community shop where they distribute food to people who require help and support, interestingly this is mostly single people. The Bridge also hire GMC premises to run a weekly Soup and a Roll session as a fund-raising event.

Other community groups using the GMC premises are the Guisborough photo group, U3a singing for pleasure, Guisborough Choral Society and we have regular private children’s parities. A new group we are starting to work with is Little Buddies Nursery a local nursery that use GMC 3 mornings a week.

The church family at GMC is a vibrant group of people attempting to live out their faith and love of God through their worship activities, that include weekly house groups as well as Sunday fellowship and a weekly prayer meeting.

The GMC family expression of faith is evidenced in the way they try to be inclusive and outward looking meeting the need of local people where they are just as we witnessed in the life and work of Jesus.

GMC has an online presence where more information about our church can be found at www.guisboroughmethodist.online
