The PCC present their report with the fujancial sthiements of Charity for the year ended 31st December 2023. The
PCC have adopted the provisiorys of the Ststement of Recon)nK￿ Pra¢tice (FRSSE) A￿OUntIng and R¢porting by
charities issued in January 2015. together with the Church Accountillg Regulations 2￿6 lthe Regulalions) and Section
145 of the Charities Act 2011 (th¢ 2011 A¢1).

community. The worship seThices reflect this ihrough prayer. Bible Teadings. teachin& sung wojship, sacrament and
shared meals.

The PCC As ¢ontinuiDg to reach out lo those within th¢ ¢on)munity and offering help. especially of a pastordl nature. This
is achieved through-
Worship and prayer. l¢arnimg aboui the bille and developing a knowledge and tntst in Jesus. Provision
of pasloral care for people living in the patish and those associaied with the ¢hts￿h who have moved
fi]rther afield.
Missionary and outreach worK including gatlvin8 proposals for furJtr¢ work.
The faculty applicaiion and planning pennis5ion for phase l of th¢ re￿$¢d development plan were
both sueeessfid along witb securing £90.1)00 in grattt fimdiDg for project. Unfortunately the
increased cost of building maierials aloDgside the choice of buildillg fm that the project wys tendered
to meani thai the costs were projected to be sub5taniraUy more then Ihe grant fi￿dIng and fimds raised
intemally to date and so fi￿draiSIng co￿tinUeS to ensure this project can be completed.
Tb¢ Place of Wel¢ome (POW) initiative la￿thd in 2019 on WethK5day nM)rnings continues to
develop m¢¢t the needs of the ]ocal community. In September 2022 a Parent and Toddler Group
was esthblibhed as part of POW and this has proved to be very popular with local parents. CAB atf
now a regular visiting agency offering advice a￿j alongside the many chariiias and a2£￿tes who
conlLDU¢ to utilise the space offer¢d lo mcei the clients aThl offer sutvort and infomiation to the local
¢oDununity. The corc of regular users who Dret for compatiionthip also ¢oniinues to ww. Our
Thursday initiative Tkniv¢ Thursda￿ continues to floutish free Pilates lortnigbtty ¢lass. a Ukelele
and a second Art Class have been add¢d to tk provision. The Café remains an affordable place to
congregat¢ and provides a small iDwme io cover th¢ associated costs of the day.
The place of Welcorne and Thrive Thursday initiaiive5 conlinue and when OPWknili&s aTise to
present to ￿pand this olTering withoui additsonal c05t then ihey are eJnbTaced. Additionally the church
has run a numbcr of fundTaisinE initiative5 over the year and coDtiDues ￿ actively maTkd the church
for local commullity use. The Shaw Memorial Hall w&5 also (lue ￿ be retyrned to church we.
Howevtt, MCII requested an addiiional 6 montlLS in or&r to fijlly cl¢)se their Aspi]t project
and this was gratjted as it 8en¢rdled much needed for the church. Finalty. tbere is the opportunity
to work in conjunction with a local food bank and the tK)st office in onler to offera free community
meal to those in food poverty and tlM)se wkn are socially Asolated. This x5 *ill iti the plauning slage but
looks likely lo start in the New Year.

Members of the PCC act in a voltsfttsry capacity arml very much rely on the assistaijce Outside of Council. It has not been

all the support that is offered.
ACHIEVEhqENT AND PERFORMknNCE
There are 85 names on the electoral roll as at the APCM 2023. This is still Dot reflective of the actual churc
congregation as some congregants have slill ￿￿1 felt abl¢ to return in person to worship. Wt do hav¢ a nunkner of regular
online visitors to our servic¢ alongside those worshipping iti the building.

facilities, within the church a￿{ we are moving towards the planning pemjission sta8¢ with both the Diocese and local
Courtcil. Once we have planning pernii55ion we will be abl¢ io unlock th¢ fillbJ$ from previowly awarded grdllis to
complete the initial $(a8e after which fiwther fillKI raising will be necessary.

Deanery Syllod rePr￿en￿liVe and l usual va¢aw at 31st Decernber 2023.
The overall structur¢ of the organisation cO￿51S1S of (he PCC atyl Stallding Committee as statutory requirem¢nts. The
pandemic has led to a ¢haDge in addiiional stn￿t￿re due ￿ church ¢losure as a place of worship and decreasing
voluntcer numbers. Currently there is a Building ComJnitiee l(M)kin8 at issues around buildirt& propety and
maintenan¢e, and a Communication5 to JDaintain our online and visible ¢0￿m￿nityp￿¢$cnCt.

St Augustine's is committed to impleTn¢nting the Hous¢ of Bishops 8uidan¢e on Safeguarding children and vulnerable
adu115. The PCC believes it has complied with its duty under Section 5 of the Sofeguarding and Clergy Disciplint
Measure 2016 and annually adopts the Hou5E of Bishop5' PronK)ting a Saf¢r Church. safeguarding policy sta(emcnt'. It is
requirejnent that all PCC members complete the Ba8ic Awarertess online safeguarding training and there 15 an
appointed Safeguarding Officer who Tewrds a￿1 monitors ¢0)nplia￿e on b£half of the PCC. Members of the PCC are
also expe¢t¢d io complete the Foundation online training though tbis has not y¢t been fully a¢hi¢ved. DBS disc105llres
have been obtsiDed for 13 peopl¢ linked to the church and this i￿lUded all PCC members.
