**Vicar’s Report 2021 APCM** ## St Paul's Church As we are coming out of Covid and the restrictions, St Paul’s have taken every precaution to make sure we have followed the Government & Church of England guidelines. In April we started meeting again in Church for public worship on a Sunday Morning and Sunday Evening. Due to people’s hesitation of coming back to Church, Church numbers have not been as they were before the pandemic; I feel this is one area the PCC members and myself need look at and be more proactive in. June White and Debbie Doran have once again taken a lead in putting together a Monthly Prayer diary each month, which was sent to everyone who's got an e-mail address and those who don't have e-mail address a printed copy has been delivered to them and daily bible reading from the Church of England lectionary along with a monthly newsletter As a Church we have taken the cursus rota in opening up our Church activities, we have held a Easter tails around the parish, Messy Church in October and then at Christmas time we made Christingle at the top shops, carol service out side as we switched on the Christmas tree lights and a Messy Christmas trail around the Church. For our Carol and Lesson service we join in with St Peter’s, with Christmas Eve Holy Communion and Christmas Day All Age Holy Communion Service taking please at St Paul’s. One of the big challenges for St Paul’s Church in the coming year is looking at the Fit For Mission programme/initiative which the Diocese of Liverpool is undertaking. ## Parr Team The Parr Team in February, we said bye-bye to our Curate Rev Gill Hitchen and husband Mike as they begin a new chapter in their ministry at St Andrew’s Orford Warrington, and then in April we said a farewell to Rev Pauline Rowe and husband Allen as she retired as Team Vicar. In July Rev Nick White joined us from St Andrew’s Dentons Green as Nick was coming to the end of his Curacy. For the 6 months that Nick was with us, he undertook a mapping exercise of the Parr Team which we have used as the foundation for the next Team Vicar within the Parr Team Profile. On the 5[th] Sunday of each month, we have started joint Sunday Morning Worship Services within the Team - because of travelling for people within the 3 Parishes we have held these services at St Peter’s. As a Team we have set up a School Ministry Team, which has looked at St Helens Council R.E. curriculum for Infant and Junior schools and have put a teaching programme together to cover year 1 to year 6 within the R. E. curriculum. Once the New Team vicar is appointed it is hoped that this is one of the areas of ministry, we can focus on, and further develop it into something special as we build links with the schools. To finish my report off I would like to pay my sincere thanks to the Wardens & Deputy Wardens, Readers, Children ministry and we have achieved over these last 12 months, it really has been challenging times. I truly believe that as we move forward out of lockdown within our own lives and in the life of St Paul's and the Parr Team, with the appointment in the coming year of a New Team Vicar and a New Curate we will be better placed to meet the needs of our community and church members in building the Kingdom of God. With all its challenges I truly believe being here as vicar is a great and wonderful privilege in serving the Lord Jesus, my prayer is that we will see God's Kingdom come more and more clearer as we rebuild out of lockdown and we will see God's kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. You consider that the audit requirement of the Regulations and s.43(2) of the Act does not apply. It is my responsibility to issue this report on those financial statements in accordance with the terms of the Regulations. Basis of Independent Examiner's Report My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under s.43(7)(b) of the Act and to be found in the Church guidance, 2006 edition, That examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the PCC and a comparison of the accounts with those records. It also includes considering any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
